How to Install and Configure Peerblock

05:39
In this video, I'm going to show you how to download and install an application called PeerBlock. It is referenced as an open source firewall but really it isn't a firewall like other firewalls. All PeerBlock really does is filter a massive black list of known bad IP addresses and prevents your system from communicating with those bad IP addresses. The developers created Peer Block under the GPL license and PeerBlock is actually a continuation of the Peer Guardian application. Again this is a black list based application which is a preventative measure. Blacklists can be bypassed but it still blocks over 900 million known bad addresses which isn't a bad thing either. This application can run along side any firewall you have installed on your system as this isn't really a true firewall or firewall engine but is rather an IP BLACK LIST system. Review & How to For ZoneAlarm Free Firewall 2016

06:28
In this video, I will show you how to get and install ZoneAlarm Free Firewall and how to configure it. Honestly, there isn't much to configuring it. This is an application that installs and starts out in a learning mode. Once it learns your habits and what applications you use regularly, then it allows and trusts those applications and watches for anything abnormal that you don't usually do. It also actively blocks a lot of exploits and malicious things from your system. This firewall paired with another makes for a powerful Intrusion Prevention Security System setup. There are very few popups from this firewall. How To Perform A Clean Install Of Linux Mint 15 Cinnamon

08:19
This video will show you how to perform a completely clean install of Linux Mint, as a stand along single OS on the drive so no dual boot. Mint is built off Ubuntu and is much more stable that most other Linux Operating systems. It is the Linux OS I use because of software availability and the operating system stability. Also note all newer versions like 16 as it is out will install the same way for now. Remember the space you allocate for your / partition and swap partition are dependent on how large your hard drive is. Us a calculator to subtract the amount of RAM you have from the available space to know how large to make your / EXT 4 partition. Remember if you don't know how to get your system to boot from a USB, CD, Or DVD, then google your computer brand and model or your mother board brand and model and how to boot from other devices. This will also change the options at the bottom and share will appear. You can also select multiple images this way. With a single image you can put in a personal message then hit the share option when the menu comes up touch on it but hold your finger on the screen and slide your finger up till you get to message then go and it will bring it up in the message app to send to the contact of your choice. E-Filing Your Taxes Yourself With Your Computer Online Review On Taxact

03:39
This video explains a bit and reviews a bit on how to use TaxAct and how well it works. The Federal is free to process and e-file but state costs. They do have package deals you can pay for one of them includes state so you don't have to pay for it. IF your state allows e-file, then you can just take care of both in the same place. All you need is all your tax documents, sometimes last years tax documents, answer the questions as you go through it, if you don't understand something there are help links next to it all the way through to help you. You can get help at any time online with TaxAct and they do guarantee their end and your taxes. You can purchase all the same protections you can purchase going through other people only it costs you much less and you don't have to pay a advocate to prepare your taxes. You can set it up direct deposit or get your check/card... and you can choose to have updates e-mailed to you and/or text to your cell phone free at no cost. I do not get anything from this video or suggestion. I simply put this out there for everyone's information to know that there is a place you can go do your federal for free and stat if you wish. It works great and I and many others I know have been using TaxAct for years now. You can also download the program to run on your computer and do it that way if you wish not to do it on the web browser. You can update it each year to do the taxes again if you like and it will save your information for the following year. Review and How to Make Backups with AOMEI Backupper In Windows

How to Configure, Optimize, Install Software, Update, and Secure Your Linux Mint 18 Install

48:44
In this video, I'm going to show you many things. The biggest thing is setting up some security for the system including updates/patching. Many have themselves falsely convinced that Linux isn't susceptible to malware aka viruses. This isn't true as there are still quite a bit of malware out there for Linux just not as much as Windows. The biggest thing you can do is make sure you have a firewall, antivirus, and updates down. I also go over how to install software and configure the system for every day use. (This works for all Desktop Environments of Linux Mint) Commands Used: To elevate to Super User: $ sudo su To update the repository List: # apt-get update To update installed software: # apt-get upgrade To update distro packages: # apt-get dist-upgrade To Install software: apt-get install skype To add a repository: add-apt-repository ppa:(repository name)/ppa Links: http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2013/07/install-peerguardian-ubuntu-13-10-13-04-ppa/ http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/43471/how-to-configure-the-linux-grub2-boot-menu-the-easy-way/ We are in no way shape or form associated with any of the companies or organizations whom develop or distribute the software demoed in this video. Updated Review and How To AOMEI Backupper

03:49
This is an updated review and how to for AOMEI Backupper. This video will show you how to download, install, and give a rundown on where to find the buttons to perform the different types of backups or even a clone you may need to do. We are in no way shape or form associated with AOMEI and simply suggest the software because we use it, it works great, and it is free. How To Unistall Unwanted Programs In Windows

08:00
!CAUTION! Some of the programs are needed programs by the operating system for other programs and hardware to work or function. Be careful of the programs you uninstall and make sure it is something you want removed. This video will show you the best way to uninstall programs from Windows that you don't need or use. It also shows you how to uninstall those annoying tool-bars that almost everything wants to install. The best method to do uninstalls is with a good uninstaller program which I prefer to use IOBIT Uninstaller 2. Have been using it for years and it works great and makes sure there are no pieces of the program left anywhere. This works for Windows XP through 8. We are in no way affiliated with IOBIT and suggest Uninstaller 2 because we have used many different Uninstaller programs and the one from IOBIT we have found to be the best and has the best price tag... FREE... and it works. By all means you can use any program of your choice. IOBIT link http://www.iobit.com Brownell's IT Solutions - http://brownellsitsolutions.zxq.net
How To Make Your Own Windows All In 1 Install DVD And USB from Vista to 8

16:34
This is not a gimmick and does not show you how to pirate Windows Vista, 7, or 8... If you want Windows Vista, 7, or 8 buy the appropriate activation key. This video will show you how to get the two most current Windows 7 Ultimate (32 bit and 64bit) with Service Pack 1, unlock all versions that are contained in the two .iso images, and combine them to make an All In 1 .iso image both 32 and 64 bit with all versions of each, then shows you how to easily make a boot-able USB install drive. This does work on Vista and 8 as well. It is not illegal to download the Windows Vista, 7, or 8 .iso images but it is illegal to crack the OS to pirate the software. How to User tracert to Determine a Network Connection Path

03:53
In this video, I show you how to use the internal command tracert to Windows to be able to determine a rout from you to another host. Trace route or tracert sends an ICMP ping request out and by incriminating the time to live (TTL) by one each time can determine the network route your packets take between you and the host you are wanting to check. You will be able to see each router you go through, the ip of that router, till you finally reach the end destination. This is a great tool for network and system admins to help determine if there are any issues. Command: tracert "IP Address" NOTE: Replace the "IP Address" with the actual IP Address you are wanting to check.
