Make your face pop with the Virtuose Goggle by Bollé in Blue Iceberg. These goggles will not only add style to your ski get-up, they’ll let you see clearly even in low light. I love the amber looking shade of the Aurora lens and the additional Vermillion Gun lens is the perfect spare lens to keep in your bag for those really white days.
Perhaps my favorite thing about the Virtuose goggle is the ease of lens changing. With a simple push of a button the lens pops out and with just a little bit of alignment, your other lens pops right back into place. I no longer dread days of low light because of the hassle of changing lenses. It’s easy and quick and your friends won’t be waiting on you.
At first the equalizer was in my line of sight and really annoyed me but 2 runs later I was over it and didn’t notice it so much. The equalizer eliminates any moisture build up in between lenses, which is a huge plus. It’s so annoying when lenses fog in between because there’s no fixing it. With the equalizer vent, this problem is taken care of.
Whether you are wearing your goggles under your helmet or over, the Virtuose is compatible. With the silicone strip, the strap of the goggles won’t annoyingly creep up your helmet or head and will stay in place no matter how deep of powder you’re hitting.
Bollé has put a lot of thought and technology into keeping your goggles anti-fog. First of all, they have am anti-fog coating that they coat the interior lens with. I have found that it is very easy to scratch this coating so take caution. There’s also plenty of venting which helps with fogging. As mentioned in the video, there was one day when I had a horrible fogging problem. I was very overdressed and extremely warm on a pretty cold day. Even with all of the contributing technologies, I feel like any goggles would have fogged in this particular situation.
The foam not only conforms nicely to your face, it is also very soft and comfortable. I feel like these are a mid to large size frame that fits large faces really well. They have a nice design/lens shape in that they have a wide field of view.
Overall, I really like the Virtuose goggles. I like the shape and style of the frames and the lenses really cover a wide range of lighting situations. I also love the extra lens case that they provide; it really protects the lens from getting scratched or misshaped. I did have one unfortunate experience with a tree, which did scratch my Aurora lens, regardless of the Carbo-Glas anti-scratch coating. I think the coating does a nice job of protecting your lenses from day to day wear but like I said, it was a bit more than just daily wear when I went into the tree.
Not only is it super easy to change lenses on the Virtuose goggles, they are a very stylish frame complete with two different lens colors. Look good while have a clear look down the hill. If these aren’t necessarily your style or you have a bit of a smaller face shape, be sure to check out the entire line of goggles that Bollé has.
