"YouthNation" by Matt Britton - ΒΟΟΚ SUMMARY

03:55
YouthNation... building remarkable brands in a youth-driven culture... by Matt Britton. -- Sign up to receive a new book summary every week: http://www.bookvideoclub.com -- Matt Britton founded the agency "Mr. Youth" in the early 2000s, and has spent the past couple of decades advising leading brands on how to make their youth marketing more engaging and impactful. Youthnation is a very recent phenomenon, where younger generations play an increasingly important role as the driving force behind innovation, growth, and the economy as a whole. The book provides insightful context around the evolution of youth's behavior towards brands and helps us understand what drives youth today. It makes the case for a new approach to brand building as the balance is shifting from 'having a great product' to 'communicating an authentic story͛'... and brand builders are becoming the true business builders of tomorrow.

1. How Buildings Learn - Stewart Brand - 1 of 6 - “Flow”

29:36
This six-part, three-hour, BBC TV series aired in 1997. I presented and co-wrote the series; it was directed by James Muncie, with music by Brian Eno. The series was based on my 1994 book, HOW BUILDINGS LEARN: What Happens After They’re Built. The book is still selling well and is used as a text in some college courses. Most of the 27 reviews on Amazon treat it as a book about system and software design, which tells me that architects are not as alert as computer people. But I knew that; that’s part of why I wrote the book. Anybody is welcome to use anything from this series in any way they like. Please don’t bug me with requests for permission. Hack away. Do credit the BBC, who put considerable time and talent into the project. Historic note: this was one of the first television productions made entirely in digital--- shot digital, edited digital. The project wound up with not enough money, so digital was the workaround. The camera was so small that we seldom had to ask permission to shoot; everybody thought we were tourists. No film or sound crew. Everything technical on site was done by editors, writers, directors. That’s why the sound is a little sketchy, but there’s also some direct perception in the filming that is unusual. BBC Presenter/writer: Stewart Brand Brian Eno, original music: James Runcie, Producer

The #1 Growth Strategy GREAT BRANDS AVOID

01:39
Please watch today's brand new episode of One Minute Wednesday: "" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zJjKA6Jy6gI --~-- #greatbrands #brandstrategy Welcome to Episode #56 of One Minute Wednesday! One Minute Wednesdays is the weekly video series that covers branding, rebranding, marketing, leadership and brand strategies for entrepreneurs around the world. SPECIAL THANKS TO TINY DINER of MPLS, MN FOR THE USE OF THEIR LOCATION FOR THIS VIDEO. This Episode 56 of One Minute Wednesday covers this: Nobody is entitled to anything. Seriously. I know from personal experience. Growing up, I was very talented. I could draw. Paint. Sculpt. I won some early local art competitions. I was appreciated by art teachers. But when I came in as a finalist to win a scholarship at School of Visual Arts in NYC and didn’t, I was crushed. I had a chip on my shoulder for a while. I'd figured, "My talent entitled me to win that scholarship." Soon after, I decided to freelance and become an entrepreneur as a designer. And learn the craft of hustling, of selling, of conveying an idea. And the power of words. And color. And differentiation. And what it means to NOT rely on “my talent” or “my charisma.” In short, I learned how to NOT go on "autopilot." And it’s what I teach every client right out of the gate. Because until they learn that, they’ll go on hoping which weakens them at every turn. They don't "deserve" anything. Unfortunately. It's a lesson I had to learn and what every great entrepreneur and any great brand learns. That is what today’s One Minute Wednesday is all about. As an award-winning veteran (recipient of over 330 international industry recognitions) in branding, rebrands, design and brand strategy, I have designed and transformed global brands, regional and local brands, and brands for startups and even cities. 📙 Brand Intervention Book (please review) http://a.co/d/dr1RLvS 📌Rising Above The Noise https://www.RisingAboveTheNoise.com 📌The #1 article on Google for How to Rebrand: https://www.risingabovethenoise.com/how-to-rebrand-19-questions-ask-before-you-start/ @DavidBrier (Twitter/IG) Subscribe to our YouTube channel (turn on notifications): https://www.youtube.com/user/headmusik Want the best book written on branding and rebranding covering Strategy, Sales & Marketing, Social Media and The Business of Branding with a Foreword by Shark Tank's Daymond John: https://www.brandinterventionbook.com/buy-brand-intervention — Visit our website: https://www.RisingAboveTheNoise.com FREE eBook on Branding: https://www.risingabovethenoise.com/download/the-lucky-brand-ebook-from-david-brier/ — Alexa Skill #1 for Branding and Rebranding: 🎙 https://amzn.to/2ydjuM0

In this marker review video I’ll go over 6 different marker brands and show you how well each brand blend on marker paper. I will be using 2 markers of a similar shade of each brand. Except for the Promarker since I messed that up :D Summary: Prismacolor: Great marker for a specific type of sketching. Personally, I’m not a huge fan. I don’t like the fat nib since it literally blocks my view of where I’m sketching. Also the ink distribution is weird. Almost like it’s constantly going dry even though the marker itself is new. Touchnew: Great marker with vibrant colors. Dual tips - one broad tip and one fine tip on each marker. Might be TOO wet for some but there is a nice flow to the strokes. Takes a bit of time to dry which also means you’ll have time to blend. Promarker: The marker that started it all for me! These were the first markers I bought in college and they lasted me 10 years. The just went dry for this video! Perfect timing… Great markers for to start with, really no complaints. Touch: I love the Touch markers. I like the black design of the marker itself. Blends really well and feels high quality. Great starter sets available with all the colors you need. Copic Sketch: Always been a fan of the Copic markers. I like the regular sized ones even though in some cases they might feel a bit too fat and rectangular. I prefer the Sketch versions with a more nimble feel to the marker. Big advantage is the refill feature! Thatcolor: Not going to waste anybodies time here - don’t get these markers. The colors don’t match the cap and sometimes you won’t get any color at all. Blending capabilities are not good since they dry extremely quickly and leaves no time to blend. Thank you for watching!

Biblical Series II: Genesis 1: Chaos & Order

02:32:33
Lecture II in my Psychological Significance of the Biblical Stories from May 23 at Isabel Bader Theatre, Toronto. In this lecture, I present Genesis 1, which presents the idea that a pre-existent cognitive structure (God the Father) uses the Logos, the Christian Word, the second Person of the Trinity, to generate habitable order out of precosmogonic chaos at the beginning of time. It is in that Image that Man and Woman are created -- indicating, perhaps, that it is (1) through speech that we participate in the creation of the cosmos of experience and (2) that what true speech creates is good. It is a predicate of Western culture that each individual partakes in some manner in the divine. This is the true significance of consciousness, which has a world-creating aspect. What Is Branding? | Graphic Design

02:59
Watch more How to Have a Career in Graphic Design videos: http://www.howcast.com/videos/509208-What-Is-Branding-Graphic-Design This is a brand name. So, make the logo bigger is, like, the biggest joke of all time that a lot of us designers face, because people always want logos. And what are logos? They're not just a simple mark here or there with your name on it or a design with a smiley face or even something that you can just pull off of, like from a contest if there's a lot of contest sites online. A good logo is when someone actually takes a look at you and at your purpose, at your mission, at your target audience, at everything, and basically comes up with not just a logo, but your brand. And a brand is important because without a brand, a business doesn't really have an identity. So, just take note even the brand Adidas, how Adidas has like two different logos but you know them very well and Nike, Apple. Everything went through a process of being able to decide, okay, what's going to be a memorable mark. What's going to really represent us the right way. A designer that I love is David Airey and he wrote a really good book called "Logo Design Love." It talks about the process of creating a logo and creating a brand, which isn't just, like I said, designing, you know, beautiful pictures or designing pretty sketches and vectorizing them. It actually has a lot to do with researching the brand, researching who that person is, researching even their competitors to see does anyone else have this brand that might be mistaken for something else. I know that there's a lot of nursery schools that sometimes use the apple and then Apple gets upset and sometimes sues. And so, you have to make sure that you cover all bases. A lot of the process has a lot to do with sketching, so in David's book he talks about his whole process, like knowing the brand, even doing webs of the company, being able to determine, okay, this is a camera company, but they really are into saving the planet, so what can I do to kind of combine, you know, saving the planet with being a photographer? So, I'll do numerous amounts of sketches. The more sketches, the better. Once you do that, you're able to kind of pick out something that really sticks and then finalize it a little bit better. And then almost write a story. So, branding is not only is a mark, but it tells a story and it tells a story in which if you look at something, you'll be able to almost know exactly what that company does or exactly who that company is without even having a conversation with them. It's the thing that you're supposed to have that lures you in, or not even lures you in but gets you interested in what they're doing which is why branding is so important.

Brand Content Strategy

03:43
Buy my book today! http://bit.ly/bestbrandingbook Connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/edwindearborn/ What is your Brand Content Strategy? our brand strategy informs your content strategy, and your content strategy helps execute your brand strategy. Ultimately, they both serve the same goal: to strengthen and grow your brand. Still, we know plenty of marketers are a little confused on the distinction, so let’s review: Brand Strategy: A brand strategy is the blueprint for how you build and grow your brand. It encapsulates and articulates who you are, why you exist, what you do, and how you communicate. It’s the foundation of your business. (For a deeper dive, here’s more on what it is, what it includes, and how to create one.) Content Strategy: A content strategy is a way to execute your brand strategy; a tool to communicate who your brand is and what you’re about—through content. (See our step-by-step guide to create and document your content strategy if you don’t have one yet.) Unfortunately, in many organizations, there is a disconnect between content strategy and brand strategy—assuming there’s a documented content strategy at all. (Only 37% of marketers have one, according to the Content Marketing Institute’s 2018 B2B Benchmarks report.) How to Align Your Content Strategy with Your Brand To build a healthy brand, you need to work with intention. Everything from your values to your voice affects how you do business—and, most importantly, how you’re perceived. A misaligned content strategy not only dilutes but actually damages your brand. So how do you make sure your content strategy is anchored to your core brand strategy? Here are 6 ways to do it. 1) Use Brand Stories Your brand strategy should include messaging architecture that gives you a blueprint for how to communicate your brand identity. It’s how you talk about your products/services, your people, and your business, whether it’s on your site or in your Twitter bio. That messaging architecture should include your positioning, value prop, tagline, and supporting brand stories.
