The IKEA Group - The Story of How We Work

06:00
To create a better everyday life for the many people: that is the IKEA vision. But, what exactly do we mean by this? How can a home furnishing company create a better everyday? http://www.IKEA-usa.com We believe quality and design should be affordable to many. We use the five elements of "democratic design" -- form, function, quality, sustainability and a low price. So instead of thinking outside the box, we got rid of it. At IKEA, we want to inspire people to create the home they dream of. Follow us on a journey from home through design, supply and distribution to find out how they come together to create quality products at low prices. To us, creating a better everyday life for the many people also means making a difference for the people and communities where we work. This film lets you know more about how.

IKEA Business Model | Case Study | How IKEA earns? | Complete Story

IKEA Business Model | Case Study | How IKEA earns? | Complete Story Ingvar Feodor Kamprad was born on 30 March 1926, on a small farm called Elmtaryd near the village of Agunnaryd, in the Swedish province of Småland. To most present-day Swedes, the date and the names, in a famously rural region, resound of harsher times, when Sweden was agrarian and poor. They speak of hard work, frugality and egalitarianism rooted in shared poverty – values which would eventually enter the IKEA ethos. Kamprad began his career at the age of six, selling matches. When just ten, he criss-crossed the neighbourhood on his bicycle, selling Christmas decorations, fish and pencils. At 17, in 1943, Kamprad’s father rewarded him with a small sum of money for doing well in school, despite being dyslexic. With it, Ingvar founded a business named IKEA, an abbreviation for Ingvar Kamprad from Elmtaryd, Agunnaryd, his boyhood home. Two years after starting IKEA, Kamprad began using milk trucks to deliver his goods. In 1947, he started selling furniture made by local manufacturers. By 1955, manufacturers began boycotting IKEA, protesting against Kamprad’s low prices. This forced him to design items in-house. In that vein, Kamprad unpopularly moved IKEA headquarters from Sweden to Copenhagen, Denmark, in 1973 to avoid unfavorable business taxes for his growing company. He also moved himself and his family to Switzerland to protest Sweden's increasing taxes. But the corporation is now based in the Netherlands, and Kamprad himself has since returned to Sweden. Kamprad was also behind the simple, yet revolutionary innovation that is the flat pack. He began selling IKEA products in flat-pack form, from his own warehouses. Thus the basic IKEA concept – simple, affordable flat-pack furniture, designed, distributed and sold in-house – was complete. The driving idea behind IKEA was, and is, that anyone should be able to afford stylish, modernist furniture. Kamprad felt he was not just cutting costs and making money, but serving the people as well. Kamprad’s business grew. And grew. IKEA expanded throughout Sweden, to Norway and Denmark, via Germany to continental Europe, and on to the ends of the world. When IKEA opened in Shanghai, 80,000 people visited the store. Today, there are over 300 IKEA stores in the world – in 38 countries. All this time, Kamprad has never borrowed money or issued a stock. Anecdotes about Kamprad abound. When his father complained that Ingvar slept late in the morning, Ingvar got himself an alarm clock, set it for six o’clock, and yanked away the off button. According to Kamprad, we should all divide our lives ‘into 10-minute units, and sacrifice as few of them as possible in meaningless activity.’ Let's Make Your Business Digital With Lapaas. Ingvar Kamprad Documentary - Success Story

07:09
* Join my BELIEVE newsletter: http://www.evancarmichael.com/newsletter/ (Insert text from person if we have a question) Today we're going to look at how a farm boy whose father told him that he would never make anything of himself used money his parents gave him for doing well at school to create his own little business. He named the company IKEA. This is the story of Ingvar Kamprad, one of the richest people in the world, and the top 3 lessons that you can learn from his success. "What is good for our customers is also, in the long run, good for us." - Ingvar Kamprad To learn more check out my list of Ingvar Kamprad at http://www.evancarmichael.com/Famous-Entrepreneurs/825/summary.php or http://community.telustalksbusiness.com/blogs/talk_business/2011/01/24/billionaire-lessons-from-ingvar-kamprad-from-farmer-to-ikea-billionaire Action Item #1: Build Around Your Customers Too many entrepreneurs think they have a "great" idea and spend all their money and time developing it only to find out that customers don't want it. One of the best ways to ensure your success is to talk with potential customers, build your products and services around their problems, and give them practical solutions that they will pay for. From the day he founded IKEA, Kamprad has been dedicated to providing good quality and well functioning products at low prices. This has been one of the key driving forces behind IKEA's international success and the company hires its own designers, many of whom have gone on to win design awards over the years. According to Kamprad: "To design a desk which may cost $1,000 is easy for a furniture designer, but to design a functional and good desk which shall cost $50 can only be done by the very best... We have decided once and for all to side with the many... What is good for our customers is also, in the long run, good for us." Action Item #2: Lead by Example If you're building your business beyond yourself then you'll have to think about your leadership style and how you are going to inspire those working for you to give their best every day. Kamprad believed that the best way to encourage hard work and a strong character in others was to exemplify that in his own life. Even though he's worth billions of dollars he still drives a 13 year old Volvo, often takes public transportation in Switzerland, doesn't have his own private office, and regularly flies economy class when traveling out of town. According to Kamprad: "I'm a bit tight with money, but so what? I look at the money I'm about to spend on myself and ask myself if IKEA's customers can afford it... I could regularly travel first class, but having money in abundance doesn't seem like a good reason to waste it.. If there is such a thing as good leadership, it is to give a good example. I have to do so for all the IKEA employees." Action Item #3: Never Waste Your Time You only have so many hours in a day to get work done and to accomplish your goals. Don't waste them! Every little step that you take to build your business will add up to big movements forward but you have to put the time in to turn your vision into reality. Kamprad's frugality is matched only by his desire to never waste his time. To that end he has built the IKEA corporate philosophy around efficiency and hard work. IKEA has always kept few layers of management, practically eliminated titles and privileges, and has almost no suits and ties in the office. *** Music by Calikokat: http://www.youtube.com/user/calikokat1 ENGAGE * Subscribe to my channel: http://www.youtube.com/subscription_center?add_user=Modelingthemasters * Leave a comment, thumbs up the video (please!) * Suppport me: http://www.evancarmichael.com/support/ CONNECT * Twitter: https://twitter.com/evancarmichael * Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EvanCarmichaelcom * Google+: https://plus.google.com/108469771690394737405/posts * Website: http://www.evancarmichael.com EVAN * About: http://www.evancarmichael.com/about/ * Products: http://www.evancarmichael.com/zhuge/ * Coaching: http://www.evancarmichael.com/movement/ * Speaking: http://www.evancarmichael.com/speaking/ SCHEDULE * Mon - 1 Minute Mondays: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiZj-Ik9MmM2HwduoMCpvZRhd2qE22Fg- * Tues - Tech Tuesdays: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiZj-Ik9MmM3NGvdl33mEwdUdr19zti9s * Thurs - Thankful Thursdays: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiZj-Ik9MmM2Scsq-0Er3mA8U3Kqz9fiV * Fri - Famous Fridays: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiZj-Ik9MmM30QoA2ygo5RWzfQm8y7ScL * Sun - Famous Failures: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLiZj-Ik9MmM2aeaKPqI5ILrNcLjbQZDob * Your Questions - Every day!

Brand Relevance by Baaghil ( IKEA)

09:05
Brand Relevance a “Create Your Space” project by Baaghil Why IKEA is one of the most or the most relevant brand in Home Furnishings. I’ll walk you through the engagement experience and values delivered as brand that serves both customers and employees. Saudi Arabia is one IKEA’s top franchise or the top two. My reasoning of selecting Saudi Arabia is to also showcase Saudi employees at their best with great passion to serve and impact the Brand Relevance. What is Brand Relevance? A video series on global and Middle Eastern brands that strike the most relevance through their unique business idea that addresses the target segment and builds its relevance on unique attributes. Brand Relevance by Baaghil is a video series on brand that targets companies with successful brand records across the Middle East and the world. The video series educates the public on brands and the benefits of owning brands. A real lifetime experience that boils the wisdom and hacks going through actual journeys to explore brand purpose, values and promise. Unlike other business series, Brand Relevance focuses on showcasing brand journey to employees and customers and how both are addressed through different sets of values as stakeholders. Our approach is holistic. We audit each brand prior to filming to identify their relevance and impact. The video series features Baaghil, the internationally renowned brand expert and founder of Brand Relevance, to tell the story of these companies based on their Brand Relevance. Not all companies qualify for this series and that is why we will only feature those that are Brand Relevant. What is the main focus of the series? The series presents brand journey through storytelling format of all touch points and key interviews of internal and external stakeholders. Which companies do you focus on? Brand Relevance focuses on companies that demonstrate great relevance after a strict audit, such as IKEA, Almarai, Apple, Google, Chipotle, Five Guys and others. What is the purpose of this video series? The purpose is to educate the public on key values delivered by the brand and why the brand is relevant. Brand Relevance is a storytelling that raises brand equity. Brands today lack relevance and target segments fail to connect with brands for many reasons. Our services deliver both idea and value behind the brand. Is this a one-time video? Yes, we aim to cover fifteen companies a year maximum. Also, we plan to share the video across all social media for one or two month. Who is the presenter? Baaghil is the Unconventional Branding and Marketing adviser whose out of the box ideas ignite companies to rethink how to reach their target audience and build sustainable Brands. His expertise, however, are not for the faint-hearted. His clientele consists of CEOs, CMOs of leading organizations who are bold enough to be strikingly different from their competitors by breaking the chains of traditional patterns, evolving their business and as a result, creating brands that dominate the category To learn more about Baaghil, visit www.askbaaghil.com. How do we book? If you think your brand is Relevant email us at [email protected], you’ll still have to go through our audit process.

Magic Man | Best Christmas Ads 2018 | IKEA

01:13
The TV Advert titled Magic Man was done by Rethink advertising agency for IKEA in Canada. Song: Bibbidi Bobbidi Boo, Disney Brand: IKEA Agency: Rethink Country: Canada Director: Rodrigo Garcia Saiz The latest holiday spot from Ikea Canada highlights reusing Ikea products and making them new again, set in the context of an uplifting family story that hints that dreams might be behind an old piece of furniture. Like the retailer’s last brand spot, ‘Lamp 2’, this ad, ‘Magic Man’, also tells a story about prolonging the life of an Ikea product by reimagining the furniture’s purpose. In ‘Lamp 2’, a little girl sees the potential in a lamp that’s been left out for the garbage. In ‘Magic Man’, the reused product is a shelving unit, but the story is vastly different. We see a multigenerational family gathered together to watch a young boy’s attempt at magic. As his deck of cards cascades to the floor, we realize he has not perfected his craft. That scene repeats itself several times, and the young trickster appears dejected after his failed attempts. The grandfather sees a solution, however. He goes into the garage and pulls out the shelving unit, a Kallax. He attaches a custom door, a fresh coat of paint and wheels, and voila, it becomes a magician’s cabinet. The boy, smiling, then completes his first successful trick.

Business leaders instinctively know that customer loyalty is important, but many feel it is a fruitless endeavor to try to truly win the hearts and minds of their customers. Instead, the "merchant mind" takes over and the focus becomes on the next transaction instead of building a long-term relationship with your customer. When executives first hear about the notion of building a Cult Brand, they often wonder, "Can we really do it? Can our brand achieve "cult" status? And if so, what would that look like?" The answer, of course, is, "Yes, you can." To see what a Cult Brand looks like, watch this brief video of an IKEA store grand opening.

EP002 - BRANDED CONTENT REVIEW - IKEA / RED BULL / TNT TV

05:07
https://twitter.com/BrandedContentR IKEA - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wL1Y0BeX4hg&list=PLF9A6992FECB64E12 RED BULL - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pm1g_sSB1xs TNT TV - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZIkPeZKP-d4 Occupy Ikea A women with the help of creative agency TBWA Lisbon, went on a 15 day occupy IKEA campaign, to urge the Swedish company to build a store in her home island of Madeira. This video is the story of her days spent in 'protest' -- Occupy-ing IKEA. The women spent 15 days and nights living in IKEA, setting up a live blog and a reality TV show about her days of protesting in the store. She also, as can be seen in the video spread the movement by leaving messages and notes around the store to support her campaign. Facebook had a major role to play in the success of this campaign -- with live updates and happenings posted regularly, all received with a strong online support for the idea. Ultimately, as you will be happy to hear IKEA did hear her call and a (online!) store is being built in Madeira, and this has inspired others like the courageous women to stand up and be heard, and demand IKEA build stores in there home towns. Essentially, this was created to spread the news of IKEA's newly launched online store, and this has inspired online communities to take a stand and ask for an IKEA in their hometowns. Exit Vine So the next piece is the first interactive web series from the Red Bull Media house named EXIT VINE. The narrative follows singer/songwriter Natalie Lake as she moves from Iowa to start a band in Los Angeles in pursuit of the famed Hollywood dream. Released in bi-weekly episodes this isn't just another web series -- this stands alone in its interactive engagement approach -- as the audience we are encouraged to participate by voting and contributing to the plot line. In this first episode we are asked to vote on a new name for the band -- giving us the audience the power to take charge of the narrative. Typically we all know Red Bull for its energy drink and sponsorship of extreme sports, but we also know them as the branded entertainment kings -- at least that is my view anyway. Red Bull have been producing Branded Entertainment for years and they continue to show their dominance -- not only have they branched out by launching the first ever Youtube sports channel but they have also launched their own music channel. However, from the Red Bull music Youtube channel we can see that this has had a little more than 13,000 views in a week. Not a particularly large number, and I wonder whether the brand would have expected this to have reached a larger audience -- I know they would have hoped so.TNT -- A dramatic surprise on an ice-cold day Now I have saved my favourite piece this week till last. Do you remember the TNT 'push the button to add drama' video? If you haven't seen this piece then I suggest that you do, because it was certainly one of my favourite pieces of content from 2012 and I am excited to report and share this piece with you -- yes that's right the button is back and the sequel has arrived! A dramatic surprise on an ice cold day is the sequel to a dramatic surprise on a quiet square. This time to launch the same TNT TV channel in the Netherlands. Much like last time this is high energy dramatic piece -- with kidnappings, gunshots, explosions, riot police, a jail break, naked men, and of course one unfortunate victim -- finishing with your daily dose of drama. Now, I am not sure whether the unfortunate victim is an actor, and I am not sure that it makes a difference to how much I enjoyed this piece. I loved the concept first time round and I like that the brand has chosen to use the same concept, almost to dramatic effect...we placed the button...again. This video has received over 5 million views in a week -- a staggering number -- and testament to the popularity of the concept. With the original having been viewed over 42 million times in the last nine months, I think we can safely say that this has a much larger audience to reach.
