Deep Sea Creatures [National Geographic Documentary 2017 HD]

53:56
Deep Sea Creatures [National Geographic Documentary 2017 HD] The Deep sea creature refers to organisms that live below the photic zone of the ocean. These creatures must survive in extremely harsh conditions, such as hundreds of bars of pressure, small amounts of oxygen, very little food, no sunlight, and constant, extreme cold. Most creatures have to depend on food floating down from above. These creatures live in very demanding environments, such as the abyssal or hadal zones, which, being thousands of meters below the surface, are almost completely devoid of light. The water is between 3 and 10 degrees Celsius and has low oxygen levels. Due to the depth, the pressure is between 20 and 1,000 bars. Creatures that live hundreds or even thousands of meters deep in the ocean have adapted to the high pressure, lack of light, and other factors. The depths of the ocean are festooned with the most nightmarish creatures imaginable. You might think you’re safe, because these critters live thousands of feet down in a cold dark abyss, but the vampire squid, which looks like a nightmare umbrella, and the frilled shark—a literal living fossil—will live on in the recesses of your mind long after you’ve clicked away. Enjoy these deep sea horrors and try to have a relaxing day afterward. ► NOTE : I'm a big fan of National Geographic and I just collect the best parts of National Geographic. I do not make money from National Geographic's Video. Thanks You very much

Deep Blue Sea (1999) - Russell Is Eaten Scene (7/10) | Movieclips

Deep Blue Sea movie clips: http://j.mp/2jlZ2NR BUY THE MOVIE: http://bit.ly/2jgMx5q Don't miss the HOTTEST NEW TRAILERS: http://bit.ly/1u2y6pr CLIP DESCRIPTION: As their options get worse and the group starts to argue, Russell (Samuel L. Jackson) steps up, takes lead and and gives the team a motivating speech on unity... right before getting eaten by the largest shark. FILM DESCRIPTION: Although mako sharks are among the fastest and deadliest predators in the ocean, they're not as smart as humans -- at least, they weren't. However, Dr. Susan McAlester (Saffron Burrows) has been using mako sharks as her test subjects for research on the regeneration of human brain tissues. McAlester has altered the DNA of several sharks, raising them close to the level of human intelligence; the sharks have also become faster and stronger in the process. While these DNA experiments have yielded fascinating results, they're also of questionable ethics and legality, earning her the distrust of several members of her crew, including shark authority Carter Blake (Thomas Jane and cook "Preacher" Dudley (LL Cool J). The financial backers of these experiments have also expressed skepticism, so when McAlester is ready to perform some major tests, financier Russell Franklin (Samuel L. Jackson) arrives for the occasion. McAlester and her team are delicately extracting brain tissue from one of the altered makos when the animal regains consciousness - and becomes very angry. The shark not only attacks the researchers but also damages the floating lab, leaving the crew aboard a literally sinking ship, with the makos eager to go a few rounds CREDITS: TM & © Warner Bros. BIGGEST Sea Creatures Around The World!

Fin Whale The fin whale is the second largest creature on Earth after the blue whale. It has been severely affected by commercial whaling and now it is rare to see one. If you have seen one, consider yourself lucky! They can grow as long as 89 feet (27 m) in length and can weigh between 40 to 80 tons! The maximum ever recorded weighed in at 114 tons!! They can live to be over 100 years old if left alone. The fin whale’s body is built for speed and it can even go faster than the fastest ocean steamship. It’s capable of speeds of up to 37 km/h but can go short bursts of even 47 km/h, earning it the nickname “greyhound of the sea”. Fin Whales have a very unique coloring with the right underside of their jaw, right lip, and the right side of their baleen being a yellowish-white, while the left-side is gray, making them look asymmetrical. Fun fact, fin whales and blue whales make the lowest frequency sounds of any animals. When they were first recorded by submarines, scientists thought they were tectonic plates grinding. Kind of makes you wonder about what is causing other mysterious ocean sounds! 9.) Portuguese Man of War While this is often considered a jellyfish, the Portuguese man-of-war is actually not an “it” but a “they”! It is made up of a colony of organisms called polyps that work together known as a siphonophore. While the tentacles can extend 165 feet (50 m), the average is about 30 feet (9 m) long. Still nothing to scoff at!! Also known as “the floating terror”, their body is between 5 inches to a foot wide (13 cm- 130 cm). They are usually found in groups of about a thousand or more, and have no independent means of movement. They either drift on the currents or catch the wind, so even though you should be super careful of jellyfish, they aren’t ever out to get you on purpose! The tentacles on a man-of-war are extremely venomous and very painful if you get stung but they are rarely deadly. The venom is typically used to paralyze their prey, such as small fish and other smaller creatures. Also keep in mind that a man-of-war does not need to be alive in order to give off a powerful sting, even if it has washed up on shore and looks dead, it can still sting you! The Portuguese man-of-war floats around the Atlantic Ocean, as well as the Indian and Pacific. So keep an eye out if you are swimming around these areas! 8.) Giant Clam The giant clam is the largest living bivalve mollusk on earth. (Bivalve mollusks include clams, oysters, and mussels). Native to the warm waters of Australia's Great Barrier Reef, giant clams are capable of growing an average of 4 feet (1 m) in length and weighing close to 500 pounds (250 kg)! However, some species of clams have been known to grow as long as 6 feet. The large majority of a giant clam’s mass is in its shell, with the soft parts accounting for only approximately 10% of the weight. Giant clams are now endangered because they apparently are also quite delicious and have been hunted for centuries for its healthy protein. The giant clam has one chance to find its perfect home because once it chooses its spot, it stays there for the rest of its life. They can live up to 100 years or more, as long as they are in the wild. Most of the giant clams you see today have been raised in captivity and are really popular in large aquariums. Giant clams achieve their enormous proportions by consuming the sugars and proteins produced by the billions of algae that live in their tissues. This symbiotic relationship protects the algae and they are responsible for the unique coloration. No two giant clams are alike! 7.) Great White Shark According to National Geographic, great white sharks are the largest predatory fish in the world. They grow to an average of 15 feet (4.6 m) in length. However, there have been some who have grown to 20 feet (6 m) in length! In fact, the largest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to be 26 feet long, which is more than half the length of a basketball court. Combine this with a bunch of teeth, and this is why people get so scared. They are known to weigh up to 5,000 pounds (2268 kg). The heaviest Great White Shark ever recorded in the wild was estimated to weigh in at a whopping 7,328 pounds. . 10 BIGGEST Underwater Creatures In The world!

Check out the 10 biggest underwater creatures in the world! This top 10 list of mysterious deep sea monsters has some of the biggest and most bizarre animals that were ever found! Subscribe to World5List: http://goo.gl/cpJSA6 Check out our "13 Amazing Pets Who Saved Their Owners" video at: https://youtu.be/bMwLm16_Q-0 Check out our "7 Celebrities Who Gave Their Kids Up For Adoption" video at: https://youtu.be/vVrlJFZ8sME 10. Japanese Spider Crab For starters, let's think about some sea creatures you'd see on or near a beach. What's the first thing you see? For me, it's a crab. They're always wandering around, and if you're not careful, you can step on one, and you'll regret it...trust me on that. 9. Giant Clams When you hear those words, "Giant Clams", you likely think about a movie you've seen, or a TV show that exaggerated the massive size of these clams. I'm curious though, which one was it for you? 8. Portuguese Man-Of-War The sea is truly full of wonders, and because of that, we're still trying to learn all the secrets that it holds. Take, for example, the Portuguese Man-Of-War. When you look at it, what species of animal do you think it is? A jellyfish? A good guess, but that's actually incorrect. In fact, the Portuguese Man-Of-War is a collection of organisms that work together to move and act. 7. Ocean Sunfish Sticking with the "oddities" portion of the ocean, let's talk about the Ocean Sunfish. This creature is affectionately known as the "Swimming Head". Can you guess why? That's right, it's because it doesn't have a tail. If you look closely at it, you'll see that it's literal all rigid, save for its mouth of course. 6. Giant Squid Whether on the land, in the air, or in the ocean, there are tales of massive creatures that roam the waters and have caused havoc for humans that have gotten in their way. The Giant Squid is most certainly one of them. In fact, many feel that the Giant Squid is the basis for the legend of the Kraken, which is understandable given how massive these creatures are. 5. Basking Shark Sharks are famous, and notorious for being some of the most vicious and aggressive creatures within the ocean. So it might just surprise you to learn that the Basking Shark is not only the second-largest fish within the ocean itself, but it's also one of most gentle sharks in the water. That sounds like an oxymoron, doesn't it? 4. Whale Shark So, if the Basking Shark is the second-largest fish in the sea, what's the first? Well, that would be the Whale Shark, another creature that sounds like an oxymoron, yet this time works out when you think about it. After all, whales are massive, and this one definitely qualifies. True, it's shark nature is downplayed, just like the Basking Shark, but if we're focusing on size, this is one creature that lives up to the name both times. 3. Oarfish Speaking of wonders, let's talk about one that is so mysterious, so odd, and so rarely seen that when it first was taken in a picture, people actually thought of as a hoax. We speak of the Oarfish. This is a large fish that is actually the largest "bony fish" alive. In fact, the largest one found was 36 feet long. 2. Blue Whale So, we've already talked about the biggest fishes in the sea, but when it comes to mammals, there is only one candidate, the Blue Whale. In fact, the Blue Whale is so huge, that it dwarfs many man-made creations. This is a creature that is nearly 110 feet long! That's basically an 11-story building, and it probably weighs as much as that building, if not more! 1. Lion's Mane Jellyfish When we talked about the Portuguese Man-O-War, we noted that its tentacles reached at their peak 135 feet long. But noted that this was a rarity. In contrast, the Lion's Mane Jellyfish averages a tentacle length of 120 feet. And that's not including their bodies. Which means that the tentacles alone are bigger than the biggest creature in the sea via the Blue Whale.

10 Creepy Sea Creatures You Didn't Know Existed

04:33
Did you know any of these amazing and scary deep sea creatures? It's hard to believe these bizarre animals exist. Subscribe: http://goo.gl/9CwQhg 'Hatchet Fish' footage by Filmic Art : www.filmicart.com For copyright matters please contact us at: [email protected] Description: There is a vast world below the ocean that we have yet to discover in its entirety. While we seem to know nearly everything about the land, the sea still leaves much to be desired. As you go down into the depths of the ocean, you’ll notice a lot will change. For one, you’ll begin to be immersed in darkness. Second, the pressure will change. So, the creatures that have been discovered deep in the oceanic depths are quite different biologically, and they can be quite terrifying to look at. But once we begin to understand them, we can start to learn more about our existence, and even come closer to curing diseases and solving some of the world’s most complex mysteries. However, the sea creatures that have been discovered recently have shown to be just downright creepy and terrifying. You probably recall the Angler Fish, especially if you’re seen the Disney movie, “Finding Nemo”. If you didn’t realize that this fish is the real deal, get ready for new additions to your nightmares. It wasn’t a work of fiction or some messed up fantasy of some Disney Imagineer. The fish that we see in this video is actually female, and the male is a small weakling, wandering the sea to find a female with her pheromones. The male then attaches itself to the female and becomes a parasite. Every part of the male merges with the female except for the testicles, which the female uses to impregnate herself. Jokes aside, this is quite a fascinating process despite how creepy it is. Similar to the angler fish is the Viper Fish, which has a natural extra attachment that illuminates in the darkness of the sea with the purpose of attracting prey. The blob fish is a creature that you wonder what God was smoking or shooting up when he decided to create the blob fish. This fish has no bones, and literally just hangs out on the ocean floor and hopes that food comes to its mouth. Whether you want to worship the blob fish for its epic level of laziness or wonder how in the world the species is still in existence with such an apathetic demeanor, it’s still creepy to look at. Then we have the goblin shark, which is pretty much like the underwater version of the alien from the movie “Alien” due to its protruding mouth. The goblin shark has a large snout and needle-like teeth that are sharp and deadly. For a completely random sea creature, we have the Christmas Tree Worms, which really look like tiny walking fir trees that come in different colors. The branches or hair-like appendages help them breathe as well as consume phytoplankton. Then we have the sea pig, which looks nothing like the pigs we have on land. But instead the sea pig is a multi-tubed foot sea creature that is closely related to the sea cucumber. It eats by pulling water and absorbing organic food. Quite innovative, even though it looks creepy. For more creepy sea creatures, check out the rest of the video for more. 5 EXTREMELY CREEPY Deep Sea Creatures

03:00
Here are 5 Extremely Creepy Deep Sea Creatures Click Here To Subscribe! http://bit.ly/EliteFacts List : 5. The Ningen This creature from the depths of the ocean may be just about the creepiest thing you could ever see. The reason for this, is that it looks just like a human even having strange limbs that resemble arms and legs. The name Ningen is actually human in Japanese. However, there is no need to panic and worry that the world will be taken over by strange alien sea creatures, because there has never been any official sightings of this little beastie and general opinion is that it’s just a freaky urban myth much like the mermaid. 4. Mantis Shrimp This rainbow hued little creature is not as nice as it looks. It is actually extremely clever and horribly dangerous. One of its main talents is being able to see colours that far surpass even the furthest imagination of humans. As well as, it is an efficient killing machine, it has two appendages at the front of its body which can lash out so powerfully that they cause the water surrounding the creature to reach boiling point! So, even the clever prey that have managed to avoid the physical attack will be rendered defenceless by the boiling water. 3. Pelican Eel Eel’s in general are quite creepy looking, but this one has taken it to another level. This slippery character is basically just a huge mouth with a tail attached. The mouth itself is absolutely terrifying, it unhinges so that its owner can catch prey that is twice its size. The chosen prey is then stored in a pouch within the lower jaw. However, the tail can be just as weird as it possesses a small light producing organ that is called a photophore and this gives off an eerie pink glow. 2. Humpback Anglerfish The female of this species most certainly has a licence to kill. She uses her feminine charm which comes in the form of a bioluminescent lure dangling over her forehead to draw in prey that she can destroy with her rows of ferocious teeth. 1. Predatory Tunicate This is basically a Venus Fly Trap that lives underwater. They are almost completely translucent and they stick themselves to the sea floor and wait patiently for a tasty meal to come along. Once an unsuspecting critter falls for the trap the creatures snap their hoods shut until they’ve had their fill. 19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures

09:30
From Nemo, the clownfish, to the beautiful and elusive Blue Sea Slug, these are 19 INCREDIBLY Colorful Sea Creatures ! 8. Blue Tang -- Undersea creatures seem to look really cool in blue … and this one is no exception. The Blue Tang shows off some amazing blue coloration complemented by bold black markings. It almost sounds like a fashion shows, right? These fish are usually found in Indo-Pacific waters and are actually bright yellow when they’re younger. The blue and black colors show up at their final phase of development. 7. Coral -- Is that a brain at the bottom of the ocean? No … but it is a brain coral … and just an example of the wide ranging variety of living coral and coral reefs, some of which are thought to have started growing over 50 million years ago. Contrary to some beliefs, coral are animals, not plants … they’re actually related to anemones and jellyfish. The reefs formed by coral provide housing for thousands of marine species, giving them a place to find food, reproduce, and keep them safe until they’re mature enough to venture into the deeper ocean. Did you know coral reef plants and animals have proven important to the development of new medicines to treat cancer, Alzheimer's and heart disease? But even with all those advantages, human activity is threatening almost 60 percent of the world’s coral reefs. 6. Flower Hat Jellyfish -- This rare species of jellyfish is a rare species usually found in the waters of southern japan, Argentina and Brazil. It can grow to a half-foot in diameter, and is easily recognizable by its translucent bell, which is pinstriped with opaque bands. Those coiling tentacles adhere to the rim while not in use. Like many pretty looking things, this jelly carries a sting … but even though it’s painful, it’s non-lethal to humans … the worst you’d get is a rash. 5. Blue Sea Slug -- We couldn’t find a lot of information on this critter. From what we’ve seen, it’s often identified as a Blue Sea Slug … but that sounds like a pedestrian name for such a colorful creature. You can see the brilliant blue coloration in this photo … the animal almost looks like an alien life form with the two antennae sticking up. We’re guessing it might be a Nudibranch (new-di-brank). Those mollusks are noted for their striking colors, and there are more than 2,300 validated species scattered about the world. Can you confirm that? Let us know in the comments! 4. Mantis Shrimp -- They’re one of the most colorful forms of marine life, but don’t be fooled. They’re also known as ferocious undersea predators that possess, pound for pound, one of the most powerful punches on the planet. Punching with speed equal to a .22 caliber bullet, the Mantis Shrimp has not only broken shells of its prey … it’s also broken through aquarium glass. Punching at that velocity makes water vaporize and explode with a sharp bang, a flash of light and extremely high heat, all of which is felt by the victim as an additional blast. Not bad for an animal that averages less than four inches long. 3. Juvenile Emperor Angelfish -- Their coloration will change with age … but while they’re young, they exhibit these amazing displays of swirling dark blue, white and electric blue. It almost look hypnotic, right? Well, the fish keeps these distinct patterns until it reaches maturity, which usually takes around 4 years. Then the fish develops blue and yellow stripes, and black shading around its eyes. 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiprioninae Clownfish -- Did you recognize them from “Finding Nemo”? Known as one of the most brightly colored fish in the world, their bodies have distinctive white striping with colors that can vary from red, orange or yellow. They’re also known as anemone fishes, because of their mutually beneficial relationship with sea anemones. The toxic tentacles of the anemones protect clownfish from predators. And the fast movement of the fishes helps anemones find food and increase circulation. 1. The Mandarinfish -- Also known as the “Mandarin Dragonet” it swims in the Pacific reefs … but it’s less than 3 inches long so it can be difficult to see in the wild. As you might guess, this fish is highly sought after in the aquarium trade … but they’re considered extremely difficult to their strict eating habits. Some people think the Mandarinfish might be the most beautiful fish in the world … would you agree? to Epic Wildlife http://goo.gl/6rzs5u Let's Connect -- http://www.epicadamwildlife.com/ -- http://www.facebook.com/epicadamwildlife -- http://www.twitter.com/epicwildlife -- http://gplus.to/epicwildlife

23 Biggest Deep Sea Mysteries

09:14
Did you know Colossal Squids can grow up to 50 ft in length? From the mysterious Mariana Trench shark to creepy fish that look human, these are the 23 Biggest Deep Sea Mysteries ! #10 … Terrible Claw Lobster -- This tiny creature was discovered in 2007, in the deep ocean off the Philippine coast. Hardly anything is known about them yet, except they have two different sizes of knife and claw. The one longer claw is actually as long as the creature’s body itself. #9 … Angler Fish -- This deep-sea creature is fairly well known for a deep sea denizen. So what’s it’s angle? The fish has an appendage growing out of its forehead that has a light on the tip. It uses this to attract prey, then devours them with its gaping mouth. #8 … Sulfur Lake -- Located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, this lake is notable for two features: It’s actually located underwater and it’s made entirely of molten sulfur. This area is teeming with creatures that seem uniquely designed for this location, like crabs and shrimp. #7 … Vampire Squid -- This bizarre creature doesn’t have fangs but it can put on a light show. It produces its own light through spots on its side and through glowing tentacle tips. When threatened, the Vampire Squid will eject an ink that glows. #6 … Frilled Shark -- Because they’ve been around so long, this animal is sometimes referred to as a living fossil because it’s changed so little over millions of years. Known for a mouth filled with 300 backward-facing, trident-shaped teeth aligned in 25 rows, it can consume prey half as long as its body. It prefers depths around 4200 feet, so it’s rarely seen. But one was captured in Japan in 2007. #5 … Alaskan Whale Deaths -- 30 whales beached themselves on Alaskan shores in 2015, and 29 of them were fin whales. Toxic algae was ruled out as the cause of death, since no other species stranded themselves on shore. Experts believe that all the whales died at the same time, but the mystery of this mass whale death still remains unsolved. A full-fledged investigation is expected to take years to complete. #4 … Milky Seas -- Sailors in the past told stories of encountering “milky, glowing waters”. In 1995, a British merchant ship documented that the waters appeared pale and milky-white. Scientists have determined that the cause of the glow is luminous bacteria. The bacteria starts lighting up in order to attract fish. Once the bacteria is ingested, the bacteria can live inside the animals. #3 … Mariana Trench Mystery Shark -- It’s a misnomer because footage of this shark was actually taken in Suruga (soo-gear-uh) Bay in Japan. And estimates that it measured 60-feet long turned out to be false, as was the notion it could be a Megalodon. It’s thought that this is either a six gill shark, which can grow up to 25 feet … or a Pacific sleeper shark, which can survive at depths as low as 9,000 feet. #2 … Giant Oar fish -- This creature can reach lengths up to 56 feet, and weigh up to 600 pounds. These creatures are largely unknown, but are thought to have been the reason for many sightings of sea serpents. Living in deep waters, Oar fish don’t spend much time on the surface. But in 2013, two of the animals made news when they washed ashore on California beaches. Scientists think that strong currents pushed the fish toward shore and they were battered to death by swells. #1 … Colossal Squids -- They can grow to nearly 50 feet long with 10 arms and eyes over a foot in diameter. These deep sea dwelling creatures are the largest known invertebrate in the world. Not a whole lot is known about them, but evidence suggests they’re loners and eat an enormous quantity of large fish. The largest colossal squid ever captured really lived up to its name: It weighed almost 1,100 pounds and was caught in New Zealand in 2007.
