Dangerous Road road 4 Dangerous road passing between the sea in france by world info

04:16
Le passage di gois hidden road of france France is known for its picturesque towns, beaches, mountains and nature. The country has rich history, architecture and culture, but even its roads may be fascinating. Le Passage du Gois is definitely unique, hidden treasure and national monument of France. Located on the Atlantic coastline, the passage connects Noirmoutier island and Beauvour-sur-Mer. The 2.5 mile long road, opens a beautiful landscape of mudflats and sandy beaches. It is not quite clear where does the name Gois come from. Some say it means just a ford, while others argue, that “Gois” comes from a Latin slang word “guazzare” wallowing, or walking by wetting feet. The most fascinating fact about the road is, that sometimes there is no road at all. Due to a tide, the passage is flooded twice a day. The road is only accessible during the low tide and only 1 ½ hour before the tide and 1 ½ hour afterwards. This spectacular event gathers many visitors each year. Some come to see the “miracle”, while others collect clams and oysters. The roadway was many times raised and paved, according to the tides and currents. While observing the disappearance of the road may be captivating, it is also dangerous, since the water level can reach over 13 feet. There is a safety information displayed on each side of the passage, as well as rescue points built throughout the passage. So, if you want to have a once in a lifetime experience, then Le passage du Gois is a must see. Just use caution and take care: in fact, this advice can be useful, when planning any other trip as well.

World Top 10 Longest Underwater Tunnels

02:02
World Top 10 Longest Underwater Tunnels 1. Seikan Tunnel -- 53.9 km -Japan's Seikan Tunnel is the longest underwater tunnel in the world, and is located beneath the Tsugaru Strait. The tunnel connects Hokkaido Island with the Aomori Prefecture. The tunnel was constructed as the government's response to the unfortunate sinking of five ferry ships due to a typhoon back in 1954, which resulted in public outrage. As engineers saw that extreme weather conditions made bridges too risky, an undersea tunnel would be the safest way to go. The tunnel was completed in March of 1998, which saw the start of all railway transport using the tunnel. 2. Channel Tunnel -- 37.9 km-The Channel Tunnel Connects Folkestone in the United Kingdom to Pas-De-Calais, in northern France. It is owned by Eurotunnel, and has single direction tunnels where the national freight trains, Eurostar, and the Eurotunnel shuttle runs. A central service tunnel is connected to all of the lanes, which also provides access to maintenance and emergency teams. The service tunnel also provides a safety point in the event of an emergency, and passengers would need to be evicted. Special multi-functional vehicles were created for traveling within the service tunnel, designed to arrive at the scene or bring passengers to safety in record time. 3. Tokyo Bay Aqua line -- 15 km-The Tokyo Bay Aqua line is also recognized as a toll highway which spans the Tokyo Bay of Japan. The Tokyo Bay Aqua line opened to the public in December 1997, since planning and construction took 31 years. The tunnel connects Kisazaru City to Kawasaki City; and before the tunnel to cross both cities it required one to drive 100 kilometers along the Tokyo Bay; or to take a ferry. 4. Bomlafjord Tunnel -- 7.8 km-The Bomlafjord Tunnel is part of the Triangle Link Project, together with 3 other bridges designed to connect the islands of Stord, Bomlo, and Fittjar in Norway. The tunnel also forms three lanes of the European Road E39. Construction of the Bomlafjord Tunnel began in 1997, although plans had already been materialized since the 1980's. By 2011, the tunnel began receiving as much as 3,966 vehicles a day. Safety measures have also been integrated into the tunnel; 5. Eiksund Tunnel -- 7.7 km-The Eiksund Tunnel in Norway connects the mainland to Hareidlandet Island, and Eika island. Although it was intended to open to the public in July 2007, construction suffered numerous delays which caused it to open instead on February 2008. It was constructed and is operated by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration, and the same body is responsible for the tunnel's maintenance. The tunnel is divided into three lanes of traffic per day, with 1,000 vehicles crossing it, half of which are freight trucks. 6. North Cape Tunnel -- 6.8 km -The North Cape Tunnel is one of the longest underwater tunnels in Norway, and is located in the Nordkapp Municipality in the northern area of the country. It is located beneath the Magerøysundet strait, and connects Mageroya island to the mainland. It first opened to the public in June of 1999, but before that, a ferry had to carry passengers and freight across the seas from Honningsvag and Kajford. The North Cape tunnel is also a part of the European route E69. 7. Severn Tunnel -- 3.62 km-Located in the United Kingdom, the Severn Tunnel connects South Gloucestershire to Monmouthshire, beneath the River Severn. Construction of the Severn Tunnel was carried out from 1873 to 1886, by the Great Western Railway. Although the tunnel's construction was completed in 1885, it took 14 years before the tunnel could service goods trains and passenger traffic because pumping systems were still unfinished. Before the high speed 1 tunnels were built in London, the Severn Tunnel served as the country's longest mainline tunnel. 8. Vardo Tunnel -- 2.9 km- 9. Sydney Harbour Tunnel -- 2.8 km-The Sydney Harbour Tunnel became operational in August of 1992, and connects the Warringah Freeway to the Eastern Distributor as a means of decongesting the Sydney Harbour Bridge. It is operated by the Sydney Harbour Tunnel Company, but on August of 2022 it will be under public ownership. The tunnel is a twin-tube road tunnel, with two lanes in each direction. Three sections make up the tunnel: the 960 meter immersed tube structure 10. Thames Tunnel -- 0.4 km-The Thames Tunnel is the oldest underwater tunnel in the world and opened back in 1843. People came from across the globe to witness the Thames Tunnel, because it was the first tunnel to be built under a navigable river through the use of tunneling shield technology, which was new at the time. Located under the Thames River in London, United Kingdom; the Thames Tunnel connects the cities of Wapping and Rotherhithe. Although it was originally built for the purpose of horse-drawn carriages, source-http://www.therichest.com/expensive-lifestyle/location/the-10-longest-underwater-tunnels-in-the-world/

Transatlantic Tunnel: Underwater Tunnel - Classic Documentary

42:43
Transatlantic Tunnel: Underwater Tunnel - Classic Documentary A transatlantic tunnel is a theoretical tunnel that would span the Atlantic Ocean between North America and Europe possibly for such purposes as mass transit. Some proposals envision technologically advanced trains reaching speeds of 500 to 8,000 kilometres per hour (310 to 4,970 mph). Most conceptions of the tunnel envision it between the United States and the United Kingdom ‒ or more specifically between New York City and London. It represents a unique concept with upscale service for an unforgettable experience. In saltwater, my guiding operations involve a “flat type” boat powered with a 40 hp 4-stroke outboard engine. The powerful trolling motor (80 lbs of thrust) allows for very discreet approaches. The flat-bottomed hull and the shallow draft allow great access to shallow water, every now and then home of big bass. My guiding activities are focused on the best tides for fly fishing (tidal coefficient, high tide/low tide hours and moon phase all coming together) from early June to late October. Fishing is possible earlier or later in the season, but the weather conditions are often a limiting factor to navigation and fly casting. Optimum fishing conditions match with a warming of surface water above 14°C (57,2°F) and an increase of saltiness, bringing massive schools of baitfish (pilchards, sardines, sand eels, mackerels, sand smelts, scads) in the bays and estuaries, followed by huge numbers of bass of all sizes. Dead Dolphins on the French Coast: Sea Shepherd France Begins Patrols

02:22
** Enable Captions for English Subtitles ** Every year thousands of dolphins are found dead off the Atlantic coast of France. Several hundred bodies have already been found on the beaches this year (and probably thousands more at sea). Despite scientific evidence showing these deaths are due to industrial fishing boats, this fact is disputed by the fishing industry, which claims the deaths are natural. Because France does not require observers on these fishing boats, the killing has gone undocumented for over 30 years. Sea Shepherd has launched Operation DolphinByCatch to patrol the areas where dolphins are killed by fishermen. Sea Shepherd is going to address the lack of observers by becoming observers ourselves, to show the world what is really happening to these dolphins. This video is from one of the very first patrols conducted by Sea Shepherd France for the campaign, on February 11th, 2019. Finally: France's Nuc-Powered Aircraft Carrier Returns to Sea After Pricey Makeover

10:04
France's Charles de Gaulle aircraft carrier returned to the sea this week after spending more than a year undergoing upgrades that cost roughly $1.4 billion, New add-ons include a longer-range 3D surveillance radar, as well as modernized control rooms, telecommunication systems, automatic stabilization systems and steering control systems. Two cooling units were also replaced, and a control simulator was refitted. Although the 850-foot vessel has technically rejoined the French Navy, it won't actually take part in any operations until 2019. Unidentified military sources told Reuters that the carrier is expected to be deployed to the Indian Ocean sometime in early February. source:https://goo.gl/FwhKeT -------------------------------------- #France Aircraft Carrier#Returns to Sea

The Next South China Sea Crisis China vs Britain and France

03:58
This video shows you that The Next South China Sea Crisis China vs Britain and France. First Britain, now France. Is China on a collision course with the navies of Western Europe, as well as America? French defense minister Florence Parly has just announced that its warships, alongside British vessels and helicopters, would sail through the South China Sea—waters claimed by China. “Without naming China, she suggested the warships will cross into ‘territorial waters’ claimed by Beijing and envisioned a potential encounter with its military,” according to the South China Morning Post. “At some point a stern voice intrudes into the transponder and tells us to sail away from supposedly ‘territorial waters’,” Parly stated at the annual Shangri-La Dialogue conference in Singapore. “But our commander then calmly replies that he will sail forth, because these, under international law, are indeed international waters.” Earlier this year, a British frigate sailed through the South China Sea. More significantly, last year Britain announced that its new Queen Elizabeth-class carriers will sail there once they are completed in the early 2020s. Also noteworthy was Parly's assertion that more European nations would be joining the freedom of navigation operations, or FONOPS, campaign. “I believe we should broaden this effort even further,” said Parly, adding that Europe was mobilizing more widely to support this endeavor and there were also German observers on board, the South China Morning Post said. France’s showing of the flag comes as the United States and China square off over the South China Sea, of which Beijing claims around 90 percent. A series of recent incidents have highlighted tensions there, including Chinese troops and missiles deploying to islands in the sea zone, and U.S. warships and B-52 bombers entering the area. However, the real question is whether France’s naval threat is more than symbolic. The French Navy has one twenty-five-year-old nuclear-powered aircraft carrier that has been plagued by problems since launch. The navy has about 180 vessels, including four ballistic missile submarines and three helicopter-equipped amphibious assault ships. French weaponry includes sophisticated arms such as the upgraded Exocet missile. Yet when even the U.S. Navy is worried that its vaunted carrier battle groups might not survive an onslaught of Chinese anti-ship ballistic missiles and submarines (not to mention new Chinese aircraft carriers), it's questionable how much France can bring to the fray. While France is paying more attention to the Pacific—something of a change since Dien Bien Phu—its long-range capabilities to deploy in the Pacific are limited, and it has to guard against a Russian threat to European waters. Partnering with Britain may not help so much: the Royal Navy fears that the air defense missiles on its new aircraft carriers are too slow to stop Russian hypersonic anti-ship missiles. And China is developing its own hypersonic weapons. Nonetheless, France has the world’s fifth-largest economy. So if France were to join the ranks of its potential adversaries, then that can't be good news for China. South china sea: UK’s hopes of Indo-Pacific strike group with France premature

08:01
UK’s hopes of Indo-Pacific strike group with France premature SUBSCRIBE my channel here: https://goo.gl/F8gn4Z G+ here: https://goo.gl/UzMJVe ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Britain’s HMS Montrose is crossing the Pacific Ocean en route to New Zealand. The anti-submarine frigate, which made a port visit to Chile in mid-December and is ultimately bound for Bahrain, has been the fourth British warship to reach the Pacific Rim since January last year – the direct result of the European power’s renewed focus on fast-growing Asia. UK Defense Secretary Gavin Williamson has made it clear that the Royal Navy will keep an “unbroken presence” in the Indo-Pacific in 2019 and beyond. The British government says such a deployment is aimed at protecting the rules-based global order, including freedom of navigation, seen as the underpinning of Britain’s “security and prosperity as an island trading nation.” Must-reads from across Asia - directly to your inbox But without the support of French naval units, some believe the UK navy will not be able to sustain operations both in Europe and the Indo-Pacific area. Speaking to Asia Times, Yale historian Paul Kennedy expressed concern about the current size of British naval forces, despite the fact that their future warships will be more powerful than those being retired. For the author of the widely known The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers, the picture could become even bleaker if the Labor Party under the leadership of Jeremy Corbyn were to win the next general election in Britain, and then pass large cuts in military spending. Iain Ballantyne, the editor of Warships International Fleet Review magazine, noted that last year’s deployment in East Asia was unusual and a sign of the Royal Navy’s renewed commitment to the region after a lull in presence following disastrous defense cuts in 2010. “With the level of British naval forces that is a third what it was at the end of the Cold War, there is deep concern in some circles about ‘over-reach’ being layered on top of ‘over-stretch’ on existing commitments,”... ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

France, Britain Sending Ships to Challenge Beijing’s Claims in South China Sea A seaborne task force comprising French and British ships and naval aircraft will make its way through the South China Sea next week, French Minister of the Armed Forces Florence Parley said Sunday. The force will go "into certain areas" where the world's fastest growing navy — the People's Liberation Army-Navy — is expected to be present. "At some point a stern voice intrudes into the transponder and tells us to sail away from supposedly ‘territorial waters.'
