[A] Actually they have shown that it detects many threats that all other anti-virus software misses mainly because it has access to data those other anti-virus programs do not like the networking history of the application. [Q] Can this monitor my whole houses network? [A] Only if it's running on a router running Windows, otherwise it's designed to only monitor the PC's it is installed on. That being said it has capabilities that centralized solutions like pfsense do not like integration with applications and services running on your PC to detect exactly where traffic is coming from and going to. [Q] What are the remote connections? [A] This allows you to connect remotely to your computer and monitor GlassWire like you were there sitting at the PC. This is honestly one of my favorite features of the software since I can monitor all the PC's in my house with the Elite license and always know what is going on everywhere. [Q] The text is to small I can't read it?!?! [A] Watch in 1080p or higher full screen, since I'm capturing the screen this video isn't really meant for people to watch in a little window. [Q] The DNS cache was why bing and google still worked when blocked in the host file. [A] You are correct, I should have run "ipconfig /flushdns" to clear the cache and it would have worked. Strange thing is chrome doesn't use the DNS cache since it always works the second I change the hosts file. ▼ Support me by sending BitCoin (Wallet Address) ▼ 18Su2PV63BabMZWwYEhgXC8obK1XBVveCp ▼ Get 10% off Kinesis Split Ergonomic Keyboards & Pedals ▼ http://www.kinesis-ergo.com/ [use code 'Barnacules' at checkout to get 10% off] ▼ Join my [email protected] team and help cure diseases with spare CPU/GPU cycles ▼ Barnacules Nerdgasm Team # 231300 Download Client @ http://folding.stanford.edu/ ** Top 10 contributers shown on Twitter weekly! ▼ I am now live streaming on Twitch so come give me a follow to receive notifications when I'm streaming ▼ https://www.twitch.tv/barnacules 💥 See my Amazon Store for all the products I use & review 💥 https://www.amazon.com/shop/barnacules1

How To Unpack All Objects Of A GIT Repository
How To Unpack All Objects Of A GIT Repository When you clone a Git repository, most Git hosts will send you a packed version of the database. This is much more efficient than sending the raw Git objects, because duplicate content can be compressed. If you unpack the .pack file while it’s in the .git/object/pack folder, Git won’t do anything, because it concludes that it already has all the objects contained in that .pack. However, if you move the .pack file somewhere else, you can unpack it into your repository’s database. 🌸 Support channel & make donation : https://www.paypal.me/aminenina/5 🌸 Subscribe for more videos : Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/user/aminosninatos 🌸 Follow me On Social Media Facebook : https://www.facebook.com/aminosninatos/ *********************************************************************** 🌸 How To Check Bad Blocks Or Bad Sectors On a Hard Disk In Linux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jE-I9... 🌸 Linux How To Partition a Hard Drive Using the Parted Command https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IoEW... 🌸 Checking or Repairing a File System using fsck in Linux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CcV_M... 🌸 How To Monitor the Health of Your Hard Drive in Linux using SMART https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1z9R... 🌸 Linux iotop: Monitor your disk Input/Output https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWG4v... 🌸 How To use the “du” (Disk Usage) Command in Linux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RA4bM... 🌸 How To View Manipulate System Logs In Linux Using Journalctl Command https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NE-fT-Fwvgw&t=3s 🌸 How To Sync And Backup Files In Linux Using Rsync Command https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIMbg7vG6Rg&t=10s 🌸 Linux cURL Command Tips and Tricks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hA3BAALWFJI 🌸 Linux tail and multitail commands https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnPyWNyCn-U 🌸 Linux How To view Log Files https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEYhs_9L01M&t=2s 🌸 How To use the History Command On Linux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkxIWlypB-s 🌸 Tips and Tricks How To manipulate Text Files on Linux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zk9M1w55XO0 🌸 How to Archive, Compress and Extract Files Using the tar Command on Linux https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8j-ZzOfbclM&t=2s 🌸 Linux - How to split larger files into smaller parts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DaC5AWjmQXk 🌸 Linux commands : Top https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RM7ck63mcHQ ***********************************************************************

trixd00r 0.0.1 - Advanced and invisible TCP/IP based userland backdoor
trixd00r is an advanced and invisible userland backdoor based on TCP/IP for UNIX systems. It consists of a server and a client. The server sits and waits for magic packets using a sniffer. If a magic packet arrives, it will bind a shell over TCP or UDP on the given port or connecting back to the client again over TCP or UDP. The client is used to send magic packets to trigger the server and get a shell. http://www.nullsecurity.net/

Packet Traveling - How Packets Move Through a Network
This video will illustrate everything that happens to describe how packets travel through a network. Specifically, we will look at every step to get a packet from a host, through a switch, then a router, then another switch, and finally to another host. This video is the series finale to an article series on Practical Networking.net that explains everything you need to know to understand how data moves through the Internet. You can read the Packet Traveling series here: http://www.practicalnetworking.net/series/packet-traveling/packet-traveling/ 0:00 Intro 0:45 Topology Introduction 1:43 ARP Tables, MAC Address Tables, Routing Tables 3:38 Packet from Host A to Host B 11:18 Response from Host B to Host A 14:11 Outro Here are the rest of the articles in the Series: OSI Model: http://www.practicalnetworking.net/series/packet-traveling/osi-model/ Key Players: http://www.practicalnetworking.net/series/packet-traveling/key-players/ Host to Host communication: http://www.practicalnetworking.net/series/packet-traveling/host-to-host/ Host to Host communication through a Switch: http://www.practicalnetworking.net/series/packet-traveling/host-to-host-through-a-switch/ Host to Host communication through a Router: http://www.practicalnetworking.net/series/packet-traveling/host-to-host-through-a-router/ Host to Switch to Router to Switch to Host: http://www.practicalnetworking.net/series/packet-traveling/host-switch-router-switch-host/ You can read more articles on Network Engineering and Network Security at Practical Networking: http://www.practicalnetworking.net/

Wireshark 101: TCP Retransmissions and Duplicates, HakTip 133
Today on HakTip, Shannon explains TCP Retransmissions and TCP Duplicate Acknowledgments in reference to Wireshark. Oftentimes you'll find yourself faced with a really slow network. You may have trouble connecting or a site takes WAY too long to load. When a network is running slow, the communication has something called "high latency". If the communication is fast, it's considered "low latency". Whenever there is high latency and packet loss, it can happen because of a router under heavy load or a service outage, etc. TCP detects these things and resends the packets, hence TCP retransmission. TCP will judge the need for a retransmission based on the RTO or the retransmission timeout. If the packet never receives an ACK in the time frame set, it's retransmitted. The time between the two packets is called the round-trip time. Every time a retransmit happens, the RTO for that packet doubles. Eventually, depending on the senders computer settings, it'll just stop resending. Windows defaults to 5 attemps, some Linux PC's to 15. Check out a book called Practical Packet Analysis by Chris Sanders. It does crazy in depth on all this so I highly suggest checking it out. The first one looks fine, but it never receives an ACK, so the second one is the retransmission. The second packet looks exactly the same except it shows an RTO time under the Expert Info down near the bottom. The RTO time changes for each packet after this too, because they are all retransmissions. Moving on to TCP Duplicates... specifically duplicate acknowledgements. This happens when the destination received out of order packets. All TCP connections start with an initial sequence number or an ISN, and each packet after that will go up by the size of it's data payload. So if my computer has an ISN of 1000, and I send a packet with 200 bytes of data, then my acknowledgement should be 1200. So my next ISN should be 1200 and so on so forth. So if my computer skips a packet and the ISN is off, the ACK packet sent back to me will be a duplicate of the last correct one. So if I have an ISN of 1000 and send a packet of 200, the ACK will be 1200. My new ISN will be 1200, but my computer skips a packet and sends a packet with an ISN of 1400. The destination says, 'oh, thats not right. Let's try that again', and sends me a duplicate ACK for 1200. It'll do this three times until I finally send my next ISN as 1200, not 1400, in a packet called a Fast Retransmission. Let me know what you think. Send me a comment below or email us at [email protected] And be sure to check out our sister show, Hak5 for more great stuff just like this. I'll be there, reminding you to trust your technolust. -~-~~-~~~-~~-~- Please watch: "Bash Bunny Primer - Hak5 2225" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8j6hrjSrJaM -~-~~-~~~-~~-~-

KRACK Attacks: Bypassing WPA2 against Android and Linux
This video explains some of the academic research performed in the ACM CCS 2017 paper "Key Reinstallation Attacks: Forcing Nonce Reuse in WPA2". It's not a guide or tutorial on how to hack people. Instead, the video was made to make people aware of potential risks, and to motivate everyone to update their smartphone and laptop. By updating your devices you (normally) avoid the risks mentioned in the video! For additional information visit https://www.krackattacks.com Note that devices different from Android and Linux are less affected by the attack. That's because only Android and Linux (re)install an all-zero encryption key.

Hide Android Applications in Images
By Axelle Apvrille "Malware authors are always interested in concealing their goals to evade detection. We have discovered a technique which enables them to hide whatever payload they wish in an Android package (APK). The malicious payload is encrypted with AES, thus its reverse engineering does not give in any element. Moreover, contrary to general belief, it is actually possible to manipulate the output of encryption and have it look like, for instance, a chosen image. Thus, the encrypted malicious payload can be crafted to look like an absolutely genuine image (of Anakin Skywalker ;). We demonstrate with a Proof of Concept application that the attack works on current Android platforms, and we also explain how it works and how the payload is crafted. This talk is not (or only very little) about cryptography. Understanding file formats, that's the magic :)."

Ultimate Beginner's capture card? WHAT WERE THEY THINKING? USB 2.0 in 2019 - Live Gamer Mini Review
AVerMedia released a USB 2.0 capture card in 2019 - what were they thinking? CppCon 2018: Greg Law “Debugging Linux C++”
http://CppCon.org — Presentation Slides, PDFs, Source Code and other presenter materials are available at: https://github.com/CppCon/CppCon2018 — Greg will demonstrate some neat new GDB features and other advanced debugging tools on Linux. Debugging dominates software development, and yet all too often we rely on printf or at best a little bit of gdb with a bit of 'next' and 'print'. This talk will demonstrate some of the power of newer versions of GDB (Reverse debug, dynamic printf, amazing scriptability possibilities through Python), as well as some of the other Linux debugging tools at your disposal: ftrace, strace, ltrace, valgrind, rr, asan, and lots of very useful stuff in /proc. This presentation works either as a stand-alone talk or as a follow on to Greg's popular 'GDB Power User' talk at cppcon 2016." — Greg Law, Undo Limited CTO and Co-Founder Greg is co-founder and CEO at Undo. He is a programmer at heart, but likes to keep one foot in the software world and one in the business world. Greg finds it particularly rewarding to turn innovative software technology into real business development. Greg has over 20 years of experience in both academia and innovative start-up software companies. — Videos Filmed & Edited by Bash Films: http://www.BashFilms.com

QSO'n Morse Code CW over the internet - using the FREE streaming app - ULTRAGRID
"UltraGrid - Software for low latency and high-quality audio/video network transmissions" http://www.ultragrid.cz/ This video demos a CW OP sending morse code audio tones with FLdigi on a WINDOWS 10 machine, to another CW OP over the internet, on LINUX MINT 17..3... both CW OPS are using UltraGrid and the UltraGrid audio codec "OPUS" - at a bitrate of 64k. (UltraGrid is FULL DUPLEX audio...full, fast QSK is possible, both ops would need to activate both the UltraGrid transmitter & receiver commands)(this video only shows Xmit to RX ..however it was tested, and both ops can send CW at the same time without any audio issues whatsoever...the latency is indeed low - as advertised, and makes for a very hearty enjoyable back and forth CW QSO) NOTE: upper left of screen are the text readouts from UltraGrid RX NOTE: upper RT is the audio spectrum analysis of the arriving cw NOTE: bottom is the SCOPE showing the arriving cw waveshape NOTE: UltraGrid has versions for MAC, WINDOWS and LINUX. NOTE: UltraGrid also has other audio CODECS to choose from NOTE: the receiving CW OP, using LINUX MINT 17, was also using wireless internet and all the FLdigi transmitted OPUS AUDIO packets travelling over the internet still came through perfectly for the full duration of the 3.5 minute test...not one audio dropout or buffer OVER or under run was noticed...all the packets from the WIN10 computer made it to the LINUX COMPUTER, demonstrating how well ULTRAGRID can perform its audio over ip streaming. UltraGrid installed very easily on both the LINUX and WINDOWS computers. It is operated by command line. Here are the 2 commands used in this video example: for transmitting from the Windows box ******************************************************************** TRANSMIT COMMAND LINE(WINDOWS 10) uv --audio-codec OPUS -s portaudio (this uses the windows default RECORDING soundcard) for receiving from the Linux box ******************************************************************** RECEIVE COMMAND LINE(LINUX MINT 17) uv -r jack:system:playback (this uses the Jack Audio Connection Kit) FLdigi on the win10 is sending text from: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Psalm+23&version=NLT for more info on ULTRAGRID ...here are some links: https://github.com/CESNET/UltraGrid/wiki/Install-UltraGrid#linux-binaries https://www.sitola.cz/igrid/index.php/Install_UltraGrid https://github.com/CESNET/UltraGrid/wiki/System-requirements https://www.sitola.cz/igrid/index.php/Audio_Settings https://github.com/CESNET/UltraGrid/wiki/Compression-Settings https://www.sitola.cz/igrid/index.php/Bidirectional_simplex https://www.sitola.cz/igrid/index.php/Duplex https://www.sitola.cz/igrid/index.php/UltraGrid_FAQ

DEF CON 23 - Aaron Grattafiori - Linux Containers: Future or Fantasy? - 101 Track
Materials Available Here: https://media.defcon.org/DEF CON 23/DEF CON 23 presentations/DEFCON-23-Aaron-Grattafiori-Linux-Containers-Future-or-Fantasy-UPDATED.pdf Linux Containers: Future or Fantasy? Aaron Grattafiori Principal Security Consultant, iSEC Partners/NCC Group Containers, a pinnacle of fast and secure deployment or a panacea of false security? In recent years Linux containers have developed from an insecure and loose collection of Linux kernel namespaces to a production-ready OS virtualization stack. In this talk, the audience will first learn the basics of how containers function, understanding namespaces, capabilities and cgroups in order to see how Linux containers and the supporting kernel features can offer an effective application and system sandboxing solution yet to be widely deployed or adopted. Understanding LXC or Docker use, weaknesses and security for PaaS and application sandboxing is only the beginning. Leveraging container technologies is rapidly becoming popular within the modern PaaS and devops world but little has been publicly discussed in terms of actual security risks or guarantees. Understanding prior container vulnerabilities or escapes, and current risks or pitfalls in major public platforms will be explored in this talk. I'll cover methods to harden containers against future attacks and common mistakes to avoid when using systems such as LXC and Docker. This will also include an analysis and discussion of techniques such as Linux kernel hardening, reduced capabilities, Mandatory Access Controls (MAC), the User kernel namespace and seccomp-bpf (syscall filtering); all of which help actually contain containers. The talk will end on some methods for creating minimal, highly-secure containers and end on where containers are going and why they might show up where you least expect them. Aaron Grattafiori (@dyn___) is a Principal Security Consultant and Research Lead with iSEC Partners/NCC Group. A jack-of-all-security, Aaron leads projects dealing with complex system analysis, mobile and web application security to network, protocol, and design reviews to red teams and other hybrid testing. With over nine years of security experience, Aaron utilizes a wide array of technology skills, historical research and security knowledge to consistently discover critical vulnerabilities. Aaron has spoke on a wide range of topics at security conferences such as Blackhat, DEF CON Kids, Toorcon:Seattle+SanDiego, ToorCamp, Source Seattle, EELive! and SecureWorld in addition to being a guest speaker at Stanford University. Prior to working at iSEC Partners, Aaron worked as a Security Consultant for Security Innovation and is a retired long time member of the Neg9 CTF team. This will be Aaron's 12th DEF CON, w00t!
