How did early Sailors navigate the Oceans? | The Curious Engineer
Do you know how the early sailors navigate the oceans? The technology today makes it real easy to navigate the oceans. But it's very interesting to know how the early sailors managed to navigate without it. There's a lot of history on it. I tried my best to compile some important and interesting parts of it into this video. Hope you like it :) ► Production Team Creator - Omkar Bhagat http://fb.com/omkarbhagat Narration - Haley Anne Chamberlain Nelson http://youtube.com/untamedscience ► Website and Social Links Twitter - http://twitter.com/thecuriousenggr Facebook - http://fb.com/thecuriousengineer Google+ - http://gplus.to/omkar4 Website - http://thecuriousengineer.org ► Attribution and Credits | Copyright Stuff Brightly Fancy Kevin MacLeod (incompetech.com) http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/index.html?isrc=USUAN1200071 Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Sextant Image - Public Domain http://www.wpclipart.com/travel/sea_travel/sextant.png.html http://www.wpclipart.com/terms.html Hawaiin Hawk - (CC 2.0) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hawaiian_hawk#mediaviewer/File:Buteo_solitaries.jpg White Tern - Public Domain http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_tern#mediaviewer/File:White_tern_with_fish.jpg

9 Unbelievable Pirate Discoveries
What would you do if you found a mummified hand hidden away in your closet or treasures you've never even dreamed of ever finding Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 5. Consolacion Shipwreck Pirates wreaked so much havoc in on the seas, they could actually make their enemies sink their own boats. In August of 1680 a ship called the Consolacion sunk off the coast of Ecuador. The galleon was encountered by a group of English pirates, after it had picked up a large amount of gold from Lima, Peru. Before Pirates could get their hands on some of the treasures they were seeking the Spanish, set the ship on fire. They’d rather have the boat at the bottom of the sea then hand it over. A crew of explorer eventually salvaged the wreck in 1997 near the Santa Clara Island of Ecuador. Large amounts of gold and silver coins were uncovered and are even on sale online. 4. Montego Bay Pirate Treasure Montego Bay located on the island of Jamaica is an infamous place where pirates commonly lurked so it made for an excellent location to search for pirate treasures! A group of American treasure hunters set sail in the jamaican waters hoping to snatch some booty. The 17th century English vessel named the Manticore, was badly damaged and found in international waters just outside the Jamaican border limit. One of the scuba swimmers, Rick Miller, describes it as being an amazing experience, with gold and silver everywhere! Treasure’s one could only dream of! Just the weight of the precious metals alone is worth 187 million dollars. 3. Black Beard’s Ship in North Carolina In 1966, a an important piece of history was brought to the surface with the help from underwater divers off the coast of Beaufort, North Carolina. The vessel of, Queen Anne’s Revenge finally saw the light of day once again. This time, the boat came from Blackbeard himself and it is a true miracle this artifact from the past was brought to surface. They came across the heavy cannons, some weighing 2000 pounds each. 30 cannons were found total. Each cannonball that was fired, weighed at least 6 pounds. More than 280,000 rare historical facts were found. This pirate met Davy Jones locker in a gruesome fashion. British soldiers displayed is severed head on the ship where he was executed as a warning to pirates. That’s just a pirate’s life for you. This replica is what it possibly would have looked like at full strength and would have struck fear in any sailors heart! His flag was also gruesome. 2. Pirates Hand While doing a little bit of cleaning, a Florida couple in Tampa Bay were going through their attic when they came across a startling discovery. In the attic was a wooden box with a treasure map. Spanish coins and the strangest of all; a severed hand with a ring on it! Could these be some artifacts left from the legendary Jose Gaspar, a legendary Spanish pirate who would sail off the west coast of Florida, although it’s still a mystery of whether he even existed at all. Before you start jumping to conclusions, the authenticity is hard to prove. Pirates weren’t too well-known for openly documenting their every move. The Tampa Bay History curator, told WFLA news that he believed the coins are too thin to be authentic. And who knows if that hand thing is even real?! Is this finding a morbid hoax or possibly an unbelievable pirate hoax? 1. The Whydah Discovery The Whydah was a British slave ship that was originally captured by “Black Sam” and was found off the coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts in 1984 by Barry Clifford. He actually credits a pirate treasure map that many discredited as being false. It seems to be the holy grail of pirate discoveries! Priceless artifacts were discovered including 200,000 individual pieces were received under only 14 feet of water. Rare gold and silver coins, gold jewelry and artifacts, cannons, sword handles and even a boy’s leg! The boat is believed to carry the plunder of 10 ships. Spanish Galleons were relentless looted by Black Sam until him and his crew were swept away by a strong storm in 1717. Divers pulled together huge clumps of gold coin masses that stuck together from years of being underwater. A museum exhibition called “Real Pirates: The Untold Story of the Whydah, from Slave Ship to Pirate Ship”, toured the United States. Barry believes there is more treasure out there from this wreck.

Geo4NIEM Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) (Vessel Position/Track)
Maritime Domain Awareness is an inter-agency and international effort to detect and prevent threats at sea or in any navigable waterway. The NIEM Vessel Position exchange from the Maritime Domain supports the effective understanding of anything associated with global maritime that could impact the United States' security, safety, economy, or environment. NIEM facilitates this understanding through effective, timely sharing of vital, secure information among many key partners by representing vessels, people, cargo, and maritime locations and activities. 19 Most Famous Shipwrecks
After a life at sea, where do ships and submarines go when they retire? Why, they haunt still shores or stayed beached on dry land as they slowly rust and erode. Here are some of the most famous shipwrecks where they ended up. Subscribe to Talltanic http://goo.gl/wgfvrr 10. Sleeping Bear The shipwrecks found beneath the water’s surface in Sleeping Bear on located near the Lower Peninsula of Lake MIchigan. A famous ship found here was the Francisco Morazan, which sailed off from the city of Chicago back in 1960. There was over 940 tons of cargo when it was met with fog and snow, which proved too much for the ship. In the end, it was abandoned by the next month, which left the ship to just sink and rust into the lake waters since the owners of the ship were never found and there was no one to deal with the removal of it from the water. 9. Landévennec This ship yard is located along the Aulne River in north west France. Most of the ships seen here are military vessels near Pen Forn. The mountains surrounding the waters not only help it the site from being an eyesore, but their presence apparently help keep the water calm, ultimately making for a smoother decomposition of the old ships to disintegrate better. 8. Alexandrovsk-Sakhalinsky On the shores of this Russian town are lines of old submarines that sit decomposing in the water. These abandoned submarines are partially sunk in the water as they just await to rust. No one is sure just how many submarines can be found in these waters, nor is much else known about their condition or purpose. 7. Bikini Atoll Bikini Atoll is known as being a nuclear testing site, and it’s also a location where ships have sunk, creating an old shipyard site for the old sea vessels. The ships were part of atomic tests during the 1940s, one such being the USS Independence. Not only that, but there’s aid to be over 55 gallons of radioactive waste in drums dumped here as well. The USS Saratoga lies here as well, with a lot of the vessels found here having been forgotten about. 6. Sha’b Abu Nuhas In the depths of the Red Sea is a location referred to as the Wrecks of Abu Nuhas. It is the site of at least 7 shipwrecks that lie near the triangle shaped coral reef near the north western part of Shadwan Island. Of the ships were is the SS Carnatic, Olden, Kimon M, and as seen pictured here, The Giannis D. Divers come here all the time to check out the metal ruins of old ships that have met their demise in the open waters. Along with the rusted metal is a diverse amount of wildlife that also makes it a popular diving site. 5. Jervois Basin This body of water is seen an unfit for swimming, but that doesn’t stop people from checking out the wrecks found at the Jervois Basin in South Australia near the upper region of Port Adelaide River. Here you can see the skeletal remains of old ships in the process of ship breaking. It’s not the active ship breaking yard it once ways, and remnants of that part of history can still be seen here. 4. Curtin Artificial Reef It is one of the largest Reef Projects in the world and has been a site of wrecked sea vessels since 1968. Since then there have been over 32 ships, buoys, cars, and other pieces of vehicles and vessels that have been allowed to sink and become part of the reef. This shipwreck in Australia was established by the Underwater Research Group of Queensland and is a project that has attracted much more marine life to the waters. 3. Aral Sea The dry sand pictured here would be the last place you think you’d see so many ships come together as they sit all run down in the sun, and yet the ships on the Aral Sea are some of the most prominent and famous in the world. Located in a basin in the border of the countries of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, the shipwrecks of the Aral Sea have been a strange sight to behold ever since the level of the sea started to rapidly decline by the 1960s. 2. Skeleton Coast If these skull and crossbones gates are anything to go by, it the fact that Skeleton Coast in Namibia are one of the most well known shipwrecks in the world. Skeleton Coast is found along the coast of Namibia along a coast that touches that Atlantic Ocean. Rusted ships have been beached here, the environment rusting and breaking them down to seem like skeletal formations along the beach. Gadani This is one of the top 3 largest ship breaking yards in the world and is still one of the most active. Gadani, located 50 miles northwest of Karachi, Pakistan, is a yard that is the location of 132 ship breaking plots. A few decades ago, it was the largest ship breaking yard in the world, and even now that it has been surpassed on that front, it is still one of the most well known and leads the world in its ship breaking efficiency.

Fishing Vessel hits large Sailing Vessel in Good Visibility 20/8/2010
Here is the press release from this incident. At a hearing 30/05/2011 at Southampton Magistrates the Officer of the Watch of a fishing vessel pleaded guilty to one safety charge brought under Section 58 of the Merchant Shipping Act 1995. He was fined £1,700 plus costs of £6,435. On the 20th August 2010 the Andrea had finished fishing and was returning to port in the Netherlands. The skipper and rest of the crew were below leaving Jan Baarssen alone on the bridge in sole charge of the vessel. The Andrea is a 36.5 metre beam trawler registered in the UK but is based in the Netherlands The Alexander von Humboldt was returning to Germany after a training voyage with a crew of fifty nine (59) consisting of thirty three (33) trainees and twenty six (26) full time crew. She is a large three masted sail training vessel registered in Germany. The visibility on the day was good (10 Km +), wind was southerly force 5-6 with weather being grey and overcast. During the afternoon of the 20th August 2011 the Alexander von Humboldt detected the Andrea on a steady bearing on its port side. The Andrea was not fishing and was the give way vessel. The Alexander von Humboldt started sounding its whistle. The Andrea failed to give way. The Alexander von Humboldt also tried to contact the Andrea by VHF radio but had no response. The Andrea claims to have gone hard to starboard and when within 15-20 metres of the Alex von Humboldt, the Andrea was seen to go full astern. The Andrea struck the port quarter of the Alexander von Humboldt. It was a fairly low speed collision. Apart from some scratched paintwork, the Andrea was undamaged. The Alexander von Humboldt was lucky to suffer only some dented shell plating with associated damage to internal wooden bulkheads and deck planking together with bent or buckled handrails. It was very fortunate that no harm came to the crew of the Alexander von Humboldt and that its rigging and watertight integrity remained intact. Mr Jan Baarssen, 51, of Urk, Netherlands pleaded guilty for conduct endangering ships or persons. He was finerd£1,700 plus costs of £6,435 In passing sentence the Magistrates stated that it was fortunate that they were no injuries especially among the sail training crew. Mr David Fuller O.B.E., Principal Fishing Vessel Surveyor for the Eastern Region of the MCA stated:"This is yet another incident occurring on the return of a fishing vessel to harbour. Fishermen are reminded of the requirement to keep a good lookout at all times. Also that that the trip is not over until the vessel is safely tied up in port. We would like to thank the German and Netherlands Police for their assistance in this matter"

Most Mysterious Abandoned Ships
From the MV Lyubov Orlova to Teignmouth Electron here are Most Mysterious Abandoned Ships . Would you sail to these destinations to check out and adventure through these abandoned places? 3 - Carrol A Deering This 5 mast schooner was built in 1911, yet sailed her final voyage only a few years later in December of 1920. When the cargo vessel filled up with coal and set sail from Brazil towards Virginia, no one knew the crew would never be seen again. In January of 1921, the ship was spotted by a lighthouse keeper, a crew member on the foredeck informed the keeper that the Deering had lost her anchors, but due to a malfunctioning radio, this message was never sent. Three days later the ship was found aground on Diamond Shoals off the coast of North Carolina. The Deering had been completely abandoned, the logs, navigation equipment and two lifeboats were missing. The kitchen appeared frozen in time, midway into preparation for the next day's meal. The US government launched an investigation but came up with nothing. Diamond Shoals is very close to Bermuda, the ship would have had to pass through the Bermuda Triangle to end up in this desolate location, causing many to speculate that some paranormal may have taken place which led to the abandonment of the Carrol A Deering. 2 - Teignmouth Electron This sailboat hit the waters in 1968, when its captain, the British businessman Donald Crowhurst attempted to win the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race, the world's first ever solo round-the -world yacht race. Donald lacked experience and began having troubles within days of starting the race. Donald pulled the ship off to rest along the coast of South America and began falsifying his records, making up chart positions for where he would have been had he been in first place in the race. Donald's intention was to re-enter the race after all the other boats had gone all the way around the world and scoop up first place for himself. He kept one logbook detailing his thoughts and the other was meant to be opened once he won the prize to ensure credibility. After 243 days at sea and providing month's worth of fake records sent in to the race organisers, a message informed him that nearly everyone else had dropped out of the race and he was a shoe-in to win, however, by then his mental state had declined dramatically. Later that year, the Teignmouth Electron was found in a state of disarray, abandoned and adrift. The detailed log books outlined Donald's deceit, as well as ramblings which detailed his derailment into insanity, including instructions on attaining transcendence. Donald's body was never recovered. Leaving many to wonder, did the troubled man take his own life, or could something else have happened to him out there, along on those cold waters. 1 - Mary Celeste On December 13th in 1872, this small two-masted sailing vessel entered the New York Harbor, she had a cargo of over 1700 barrels of Alcohol. But, it became apparent quickly that something was very wrong with the ship, the boat moved irrationally, despite the captain being known for his talent as a seaman. After two hours of attempted hails with no reply, the boat was surrounded and boarded. The out of control ship was found to be abandoned, all of the ship's papers were missing except the captain's log, with the last entry being dated as November 25th, stating the ship had passed the Azores. There were no signs of violence or struggle, though it was noted several times that the ship appeared to have been vacated in a substantial hurry. A six-month supply of food and fresh water was found stored in below decks. All of the crew's personal possessions as well as the cargo of the ship appeared untouched, after further investigation, 9 barrels of alcohol were found empty. Over the next 13 years, the Mary Celeste changed hands 17 times, with several tragic deaths, leading many to whisper that this ship was cursed. No one ever heard from the original crew again.

Small Vessel Sea Service Form Section II
Section II - Record of Underway Service Section II lets you lay out the days you were on the water. There are 12 blocks labeled with the month. Under the months are two columns of five spaces. In the left column you record the years you were on the vessel and in the right column you record the days in that year for that month. If you owned a vessel for more than five years you may need to attach another page or two so you are able to record all the years you were on the vessel. At the bottom of Section II, under the month blocks are six boxes to fill in. The top left box records the total number of days spent on that vessel, to get the answer you must add up every day you recorded on the form. The middle box on the left is the average hours underway per day. Be aware that the minimum number to put in this box is four. The bottom box on the left is average distance offshore, use your best guess of the average distance offshore and record it here. The three boxes on the right break your time up into the area where you got the sea time. If all of your time was on the Great Lakes you will put the same number as the total time. If your days were spent less than three miles offshore it was inland time. If your days were spent more than three miles offshore it was near coastal time. Your total days on the vessel may be broken up between inland and near coastal time.

Raising of WWII German submarine U-534 from the bottom sea
U-534 was salvaged in 1993 and since February 2009 has been on display in Birkenhead, England as part of the U-boat Story. The U-boat is one of only four German World War II submarines in preserved condition remaining in the world. A Royal Air Force bomber sank her on 5 May 1945 in the Kattegat 20 kilometres northeast of the Danish island of Anholt. What would you do, in case of a Pirate Attack at Sea? (Sailing La Vagabonde) Ep. 39
More about the pirate scare! Please comment and let us know what you would do in the case of a pirate attack out at sea. The next 150nm of ocean until we reached the Galapagos Islands was quite enjoyable. We saw the most incredible things in the water, I started hearing things and Riley got a tiny little crab in his ear after scraping the hull. Each day we spend on the water these days seems to be full of surprises. As the sun was rising, I spotted the island of San Cristobal. Seals galore. They stuffed up my salad (A SALAD) and the world gets to see grumpy Elayna. Muddy shoe walkers leaving muddy tracks onboard. Surrounded by bird watching/explorer humans in cargo gear. I wonder what adventures tomorrow may bring. Thanks for watching, and for those on Patreon supporting my art. Operation Mamacocha - Defending Migratory Species in the Eastern Tropical Pacific
Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s interceptor vessel, the M/V Brigitte Bardot, is on Operation Mamacocha - Sea Shepherd’s campaign addressing Illegal, Unreported, Unregulated (IUU) fishing in the Eastern Tropical Pacific Biodiversity Corridor. Marine wildlife knows no borders and Sea Shepherd is currently working with SkyTruth to protect this extremely important corridor for the life cycle of sharks and many species. This is one of the last regions that exhibits such diverse abundance of marine life on the planet. Thanks to SkyTruth’s advanced technology, Sea Shepherd is now able to observe IUU fishing vessels on the high seas from outer space. Areas such as Cocos Island act as a barometer to the wider biodiversity in the Easter Tropical Pacific. But, they cannot flourish in a vacuum of their own, without assured protection of migratory species on the high seas. Vessel Streaming | Liat Segal | Tour de la Chaîne, La Rochelle, France
The physical ocean, as well as the digital sea of information, are still unconquered frontiers. Throughout history, untouched territories ignited the imagination of humans, as they tried to tame the forces of nature and discover what is beyond grasp. The heritage of the old-days explorers is nowadays directed towards the vast digital frontlines. The exhibition, spanning along two historical locations at La Rochelle, suggests different reflections on the human endeavor to explore and control. A location-based installation at Tour de la Chaîne features hundreds of drinking glasses, collected by La Rochelle’s residents, containing sea water. The glasses are positioned upside-down with their top edges on the surface, locking the water between each glass and the structure below. A concealed mechanism, made of multiple moving magnets, forms waves within the glasses. These waves and currents manifest an ephemeral representation of true data of vessel’s motion at sea. Geo-location information, collected from online sources, logs the positions of sea vessels that had passed through La Rochelle at least once during the months prior to the exhibition. This information is mapped onto the cluster of glasses. Simultaneously, at Centre Intermondes, machine-made paintings are created based on the same information, accumulating into a digital-analog visual archive. In contrast to the fluid representation at Tour de la Chaîne, this is a process of collection and preservation of data and history. These two echoes compose a chronicle of the attempt to control but at the same time of human fragility. Vessel Streaming takes place as part of ZERO1 Numeric art and Culture Festival 2018, La Rochelle, France.

Starting Season 3! 7 day sail to New Zealand / Sailing Aquarius #49
We left Tonga as hurricane season is coming soon. Possible safe destinations - Australia or New Zealand. We chose latter. We tool off with our “Buddy Boat” Nimbus, who had to stop for couple of hours to fix some issues and we stopped as well (previous video). Winds were ruff and waves were high… and we missed sunlight to enter Minerva Reef… but from there on the trip was becoming nicer and nicer… Just colder :))) We arrived to Bay of Islands - such a picturesque place!
The MOST Difficult Boat Yard Jobs...
http://tulasendlesssummer.com/shop-tula/ One of the most difficult boat jobs I think I have ever encountered was trying to hold the nuts on the inside of our "pin" plates. It was super tight in there, hot, and I couldn't reach my arm though so I had to tape wrenches to poles to reach. Also, drilling through thick SS with a hand drill isn't easy. Also, digging holes for the rudders through the packed gravel wasn't easy. Also, getting those compression tubes upright and to the center of the beam wasn't super easy either. Although, that went smoother than I thought. Anyway, here are some tough boat yard jobs that we've been working on for the past couple weeks. BIGGEST Salvage Projects In The World
From the Deepwater Horizon Rig event to giant abandoned ships; these are the BIGGEST Salvage Projects in The World ! Check me out on Facebook- http://bit.ly/2isFYRd There are more awesome videos being made every week, like and subscribe to World Unearthed so you don't miss a beat ! 7.MV Cougar Ace | Alaska The Singaporean vessel Cougar Ace is primarily used for transporting cars from Japan to North America. In 2005, it set a record for most cars unloaded from a ship in Canada. Kind of a weird record, but hey, who are we to judge? A year later, Cougar Ace was carrying 4,812 brand new cars, about 97 % being Mazdas. In total, the cargo was valued at $117 Million… Well during an exchange of ballast water, the stuff that keeps boats balanced and stable, the Cougar Ace tipped 60 degrees to port . Which means the ship looked like - This. With some luck, Titan Salvage were able to tug the ship to Unalaska Island, where it was finally “righted”, meaning the ship was no longer tilted, then it was towed to Portland, Oregon for inspections and repair. This incident was quite the nightmare for Mazda. At first, they said the cars would be not be sold as brand new, but after testing the safety of the cars, the company decided to scrap every...single...one.. 6.MV Baltic Ace | Netherlands 5.MV Rena | New Zealand The MV Rena was a container ship with a capacity for 3,351 containers of whatever you want to transfer globally. With an engine that had a max output of 29,497 horse power, this 38,000 ton, 106ft(32m) long ship was built in 1990 and served multiple companies throughout the years. In October 2011, the MV Rena ran aground on the Astrolabe reef near the Bay of Plenty in New Zealand. This was already very bad for the local environment and reef, but things got even worse when the Rena started leaking oil. Because of bad weather, the crew of 20 was evacuated, when the ship started shifting. A few days later, the oil spill was declared the worst maritime environmental disaster of New Zealand, and people were rightly pissed. A few days later, the ship was sitting at a 20 degree tilt, and 88 of the cargo containers fell into the sea. In January 2012, the ship finally succumbed to the sea and broke in 2. By 2014, 77% of the cargo was removed, and major parts of the ship were salvaged. So what is happening today? NOTHING. The ship owners were allowed to abandon the rest of the wreckage, with the stipulation that they will have to pay for ongoing clean up costs, and for the damage the ship has done to the local environment. 4.MV Drake | Australia 3.Deepwater Horizon Rig | USA 2.Chittagong Ship Breaking Yard | Bangladesh Well here is a business of.. Opportunity? In 1960 the ship MD Alpine was beached and abandoned on the shores Chittagong, Bangladesh, a local company purchased the ship and started the scrapping project. The ship was pretty big, and most of the work was done by hand, so the project took years to complete, but it was also the birth of the the ship breaking industry in Bangladesh. Nowadays, the brutal and unsafe work conditions have not changed, but the landscape sure has. 1.Costa Concordia | Italy The Costa Concordia was a beautiful cruise ship that cost some $500 million dollars to build, its maiden voyage was on June 29th,2006, and not even 6 years later, the Costa Concordia was involved in a tragic accident off the coast of Isola del Giglio. The accident was pretty straight forward, the Costa Concordia hit a rock, a 174ft (53m) gash was opened up on the port side of the hull. All power was lost and the ship drifted towards the shore and rolled towards the starboard side. After rescue operations were over, it came time to figure out what could be salvaged from the ship. Smit International, a salvage company assessed that the best course of action was the total write off of the ship as a constructive loss, they were contracted to remove the fuel from the ship. In 2013, the ship was finally brought back to a vertical position, and the salvage costs rose up to $799 million in total. At which point I assume the people doing the estimates said to themselves “Screw it, lets just round up to $800 million”. In 2014, the ship was refloated and prepped for towing, estimates for the total cost rose to $2 Billion. In July 2017, the final pieces of the Costa Concordia were scrapped and recycled, finishing the story of this tragic event.

Night-at-Sea !! AMET Majesty, India’s first cruise ship !! Multi Cruiser !!
The cruise liner, owned by Chennai-based AMET Shipping India Pvt. Ltd, will initially run a one-night sailing trip on the Chennai high seas starting Thursday, followed by a similar service in Vizag. MV AMET Majesty, India’s first cruise ship, plans to set sail from its home port in Chennai to destinations in Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore, as it seeks to tap demand from rich Indian holidayers and provide training to maritime students. The fun of having vacation in the blue waters of Bay of Bengal watching the panoramic beauty of Konaseema and Eastern Ghats from see-through cruise liner may become a reality with the State government deciding to introduce cruise service between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada. Though the plan was conceived earlier, it was shelved for a variety of reasons mainly for not getting suitable place for anchoring of the cruise liner. AMET Shipping, which brought its cruise liner AMET Majesty from Chennai for a ‘night-at-sea’ exposure for select group of people in 2011, had experienced a lot of difficulty in first getting clearance to berth it and later attaching gangway (ladder) to it. The ship had docked at the Visakha Container Terminal. This time we want to introduce cruise service between Visakhapatnam and Kakinada and later in Krishnapatnam area. Visakhapatnam is on top of our agenda in tourism promotion Abundance of beaches, green-capped hillocks, Buddhist sites, and tribal locations would make Visakhapatnam one of the best tourist destinations in the country
