0:55 he looks safe to me
No Libbies (1 year ago)
Well, aside from the fact that at least half of these guys were actually safe, the plays look cool.
Amplyfi_ (1 year ago)
Yan Gomes is an absolute beast!
Pedro Lopes (11 months ago)
GhostyyPlays_ Brazilian just like me
SDL (1 year ago)
2:00 catching a bouncer like that and still picking off the runner! Would like to see some slow-mo footage mixed in there.
Cisum Music (1 year ago)
Gary Livesey (1 year ago)
Ricky Henderson at first base, another runner at second; two outs, Jose Canseco at the plate. Angels catcher Lance Parrish, catches Henderson asleep and throws to first base; out; end of inning. Next inning, Canseco returns to the plate and hits a solo homer as opposed to a three run homer. With second base occupied, henderson couldn't steal. He was lost in thought during the game.
Trevor Wineberg (11 months ago)
Doesn't mean he would have hit a homerun with runners on anyway
215 Phresh (1 year ago)
Gary Livesey go to bed grandpa
T L S (1 year ago)
It's a shame Yadi doesn't get tried very often anymore
Jason McCarter (1 year ago)
0:38 "oh baby what a throw..." nah nah nah. Oh baby a triple
Nicholas Wood (1 year ago)

Cisum Music (1 year ago)

Jake Herington (2 years ago)
The only reason I liked playing catcher
Robert De Niro (2 years ago)

Christian Hiwatashi (2 years ago)

So what happens when there's 2 outs, batter at the plate, and the side is retired on a pickoff? Is the batter to come up next inning or is the batter retired as well?
Subangelis Gaming (2 years ago)
Yeah, he'll get a clean count
Wii G (2 years ago)
The batter is to come up next inning
matperry18 (2 years ago)
Isn't Donaldson blocking the base?
writereducator (2 years ago)
Milo Baseball (2 years ago)
0:48 yea he goes to the dugout!!!
The Hype Bros (2 years ago)
You never know at all
Flashy Potato (2 years ago)
As a catcher I love doing this
Santiboy112 (2 years ago)
Damn the cubs were in a lot of these Ross is a really good catcher
Cal Leferink (2 years ago)
Ross had 5 of these this season. I don't think they were all when he was catching Lester. Incidentally, Contreras had 4 himself. Maybe it's just that Cubs catchers can do this really well.
JJ James (2 years ago)
David Ross is excellent at backpicks. Incredibly silly to suggest otherwise. He led all of MLB in 2016 in catcher pickoffs. Notice in the four Cubs clips shown, Lester isn't pitching in any of them.
Santiboy112 (2 years ago)
Rowgue51 wow... well thanks fir the info, if you coudnt tell im not really a cubs fan😂
Rowgue51 (2 years ago)
+Santiboy112 He has some kind of mental block with it.  When he does attempt it, it almost always results in him throwing the ball away badly.  He's only attempted like five pickoffs in the last three years or something.
Santiboy112 (2 years ago)
Rowgue51 ohh that makes sense thanks! But why cant lester pickoff?
hp.sebaseball (2 years ago)
It would actually be called a Backpick.
Rowgue51 (2 years ago)
+Omega. I'm fully aware what you're trying to get at.  But it's just a pickoff.  There isn't any special designation for a pickoff that comes from the catcher, and one isn't needed.
hp.sebaseball (2 years ago)
It would be another saying for pickoff.
Rowgue51 (2 years ago)
No it's just called a pickoff.
Richard Sarabia (2 years ago)
What about pick offs from Christian Vasquez?
Jonathan Allard (2 years ago)
But what about (insert name)'s pickoff? Yeah, he didn't include ALL the catcher's pickoffs in history.  I hope yall understand that.
Katie Ng (2 years ago)
I don't guess why Brewers fan were clapping for the Cubs
Corek BleedingHollow (2 years ago)
Damn those catchers can fucking heave it faster than the pitchers ironically
FormallyCrippled (2 years ago)
AR Canada (2 years ago)
One of my favourite compilations of all time. This is one of the coolest plays in baseball.
speakermanx (2 years ago)
Only one pickoff from Yadier Molina, lame compilation.
Benjamin Krawetzki (2 months ago)
Cubs are in so many of these, so as Yan Gomes.
Ms stealyourman (2 years ago)
At 1:00 he was safe
Isabel The Homosapien (2 years ago)

Ben Vok (2 years ago)

Alex Oliveri (2 years ago)
Ben Vok (2 years ago)
+Josh Pomeranc lol salty much
Josh Pomeranc (2 years ago)
Is it just me or are you an idiot?
Brian Flaherty (2 years ago)
How are the Brewers so bad at base running?
Josh Pomeranc (2 years ago)
They aren't.
Nate (2 years ago)
Extremely satisfying watching runners getting picked off.
John Lachman (2 years ago)
Maldonado has an absolute cannon
Dino Amaro (2 years ago)
kjl (2 years ago)
ugh i loved doing this as a catcher
schumi246 (1 year ago)
When I played, I played right field, and I loved getting runners tagging to score, another is the classic 9-3, only got one of those, sharp line drive, slow runner, perfect combo for that.
pcassidy33 (1 year ago)
Robert De Niro (2 years ago)
TIM HONKS throwing out people from third was my life man, right handed throw I would just step back and rifle it down there and my friend Brandon played 3rd I swear he had tags like Baez
kjl (2 years ago)
i remember there was a guy on second and the third base coach told him "take a bigger lead he wont throw you out there" lol 2 pitches later i gunned him down. third base coach just stood there in shock
Dylan Clay (2 years ago)
Its so fun seeing the Oh Shit reaction when you do it some times ive done it like once or twice
Wow, it's so weird how they all say the same thing.. "Snap throw to first... got him!"
Masao3k (2 years ago)
But the real question is where is yadi?
dereck vonallmen (2 years ago)
The whole video should just be of Yadi.
KRIS PRINGLE (2 years ago)
Baseball Fan (2 years ago)
right, ik damn well he's had at least 50 in his carrer
Masao3k (2 years ago)
1:00 but he was safe doe
William Gerlach (2 years ago)
overturned after
lol Contreras has caught about three this week
Brady Tucker2 (2 years ago)
Part 2?
Trenton Browning (2 years ago)
only one of Yadi? you can make a whole video of him alone.
DoubleFailMech (1 year ago)
Eli Michaelis Wow who only had 8 passed balls that season which was tied and the most he's ever had in his long career. He also had a 62% caught stealing which definitely makes up for it. Yadier is not overrated he's a defensive beast and he's treated as such.
Eli Michaelis (1 year ago)
Trenton Browning no you can't so overrated he led the league in past balls
Ricolyte (2 years ago)
Yeah, most people don't even try to test Yadi anymore
Robert De Niro (2 years ago)
Rowgue51 (2 years ago)
Except these all happened this year and Yadi has exactly one.
Tigers Fan All Day (2 years ago)
James McCann?
Captain Cardsworth (2 years ago)
Are these just from this year or something? I believe Yadi is second behind Pudge for the record for these and he's only got one in the entire video?
Meh-Tyu (2 years ago)
I love how you included four of the best from David Ross and the Cubs, but you cut off the game-ending pick-off too soon. You should have included the commentator's "Cubs win" to make the video a little better.
Nathan Webb (2 years ago)
Nice video!
Tim Wenger (2 years ago)
What about Vasquez? The Red Sox struck someone out and Vasquez picked a guy off at first to double up...
Mason Szekula (2 years ago)
They all say got em
good luck (2 years ago)
ah I miss it! those throws were so much fun. it is harder then it looks to follow a ball moving 75+ and see the runners on base catch an throw from your knees. freaking awesome
Vinnie13ftw (2 years ago)
Maldonado for the brewers is one of the best catchers with the best arm
IAmMattLewis (2 years ago)
The pickoff to first might be my favorite play in baseball.
mattloveOHIOST5 (2 years ago)
Yan Gomes really likes that move
Itzthatgoalie 31 (2 years ago)
1:00 minute ump called him safe was that overturned??
Imma rek You (2 years ago)
I love how most of these r the cubs
Josh DeMay (1 year ago)
Imma rek You cubs and Indians are the best at this. But it didn’t happen at all in the WS. Lol
Johnny squad (2 years ago)
well the cubs have a catcher who'll pick off a bunch of runners
Winston Scott (2 years ago)
only one of yadis pick offs he had alot more than that
mjpipkid (2 years ago)
Molina had a couple more when Albert was still in St. Louis
Yadi only has 1 this year
Dasha (2 years ago)
2 of salvy... fck u
BigRedRIP (2 years ago)
Last time I checked, Salvy played in MLB.  Just because he had like 6 of them last year, don't be a hater and beg for the one pickoff your catcher did.
Lane Gillespie (2 years ago)
he's not wrong though. There should've been more
Jason Willson (2 years ago)
look at the title does it say Salvador Perez pick offs ? No it says MLB catcher pick offs so STFU and stop been a typical annoying royals fan.
Joe Moschella (2 years ago)
this video deserves much more recognition 👌🏻
Greysen Gagne (2 years ago)
Red Sox had a few.
