There is nothing really nothing you could do to make Jesus hate you even though you may be against him, he is for you and loves you with infinite love.

Surprised no one mentioned daniel day lewis, heath ledger (for brokeback not dark knight), bale (for the machinist and american psycho) and Jeremy Renner for hurt locker and wind river and i may be cheating here Andy Serkis for The planet of the apes trilogy. Iam happy Kevin Bacon got a mention though. Greatly underappreciated. There are just too many. Johnny Depp for Finding Neverland. Jake Gyllenhaal for Night Crawler and southpaw. and one more for the road Tom Hardy for his one man show in Locke and lets not forget Warrior. Sorry not done yet. Ryan Gosling for Blue Valentine.

Ulreich Muhe in Life of others and Kavin Bacon in The Woodsman are absolutely amazing performances, underrated or under the radar cause the movies are "not oscar bait"...even tough Life of others won best foreign language film. Not makeup, no losing weight, no gaining weight, no phisycal transformation, no "method"...just the actor perfoming a human being and BECOMING the character by sheer talent. I must add Jack Nicholson in The Pledge.

The interviewer clearly prefaced each of these interviews with, "...excluding Daniel Day-Lewis, of course." They all know it'd sound cliché. But we all know the truth.
Adnan Hasan (27 days ago)
LOL i know exactly what you mean. Just before they start recording the director yells out to all the actors " all right guys say any name but whatever you do dont mention Daniel Day Lewis". Daniel is in a league of his own. Imagine Usain Bolt running the 100m dash against a three year old. He should not be in this list. There should be a seperate list for him.

I 100% agree with Julianne Moore´s opinion. I felt exactly the same. It´s one of top ten acting performances I have ever seen. I couldn´t believe how REAL Sean Penn could be. Just astonishing!!!

Omg why tf has Sandra Bullock got a massive afro!? Hahaha. That kinda shocked me. She's earned a place for worst acting role in Gravity. I couldn't stand that film. All it was was her endless rambling in space. Very annoying. Not much happens in the way of plot, just her talking & stuff flying around.
Robert Happ (3 months ago)
Tom Hardy in Locke.
destiny child (3 months ago)
I just love Julianne Moore. I seem to have the exact same taste in movies as her. One of the best female actresses today.
Lynn Turman (3 months ago)
Most people confuse the performance with the character created in the screenplay. Surprised these A-list actors are doing the same.

The only right answer was, in my humble, opinion that off Colin Firth, The Woodsman was truely amazing. My own biast opinion would say Hugh Jackman in the fountain (truely great actor, also in les miserable).

Marion Cotillard wasn't playing an old person in La Vie En Rose. She was playing Edith Piaf who died in her late 40s. It's been forever since I have seen that film but I think she looks pretty rough at the end of her life because she had abused drugs and alcohol for so long.
Michael Simonson (4 months ago)
Nathalie Portman in Beautiful Girls. (k not in the last decade from 2010 but, yeah)
Naully Prana (4 months ago)
When Christoph waltz said his favorite performance was in no country for old men and he identified with it, it was scarily funny and I thought of course... But then he said its Tommy Lee Jones and I got confused how he identified with it

Jake Gyllenhaal in Nightcrawler among so many others
Roose Trollton (4 months ago)
What about Nicolas Cage in the Wicker Man? He delivers the pain his character experiences perfectly in that bee scene and his fight scenes (specially the bear scene) are so well choreographed, intense and striking because of it‘s brutality.

I think Tobey Maguire is a Jedi material. I could imagine him being a forgotten Jedi, and don't want to involve with anything the force related anymore. But Rey needs every possible help to balance the power of Ben Solo, so any Jedi will be a help

I'm very concerned that I'm most of the way through, and I haven't heard anything about Heath Ledger's Joker yet.

Daniel Day-Lewis and Leonardo DiCaprio in almost all of their movies
Will Buttle (5 months ago)
Heath Ledger as The Joker in The Dark Night... he created something that was so memorising, so inventive. Something that we will probably never see from another antagonist ever now. Many actors have tried to bring that kind of style to a character such as Michael B. Jordan as Killmonger, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, almost a likability. Both very good roles and performances but nothing can compare to Heath Ledger’s Joker performance. The Dark Knight on a whole will go down as one of the best movies of all time, let alone a superhero movie. To be honest, I don’t feel like The Dark Knight is a superhero movie, it just happens to have Batman and the Joker as the characters

Joaquin Phoenix's performance in 'Two Lovers' was the best between 00-10. Better than DDL in TWBB.

I would probably pick Julianne Moore in "Magnolia"... That part when she says her monologue... Man! It's great! Or Vera Farmiga in "The boy in the striped pyjamas " because at the end where she finds out what happened with her son she can make me feel her pain and her loss every time I watch the movie, she cries with so much sentiment that I just love it.
John Smithee (5 months ago)
Nicolas Cage in Left Behind Ed Wood in Plan 9 From Outer Space Tommy Wiseau in The Room
