https://www.databasestar.com/introduction-oracle-sql-course/ In this video, I’ll show you how to set up a connection in SQL Developer. SQL Developer is Oracle’s free IDE for working with your SQL database. It’s one of the best tools available, and used by a lot of people. As part of my Introduction to Oracle SQL series of videos, I use SQL Developer to set up the data and explain the concepts. The first step once you have downloaded the application is to set up a connection. What is a connection? A connection in SQL Developer lets you connect to a database. You enter in a set of data once for your database, and SQL Developer remembers this and lets you connect to the database. You provide the following data: - Connection name - Username - Password - Server details (e.g. server, port, SID) The connection can have a name to help you remember it in the future. Connections can also be colour coded to make it easier to see which connection you’re working on! So, to find out how to set up a connection in SQL Developer, watch this video! Let me know in the comments if you have any questions.

other than "system"under username cant we use any other word?
Database Star (2 months ago)
There are many words you can't use, such as Oracle reserved words. System is the default account so you should create a new account to use for your queries

Hello, what username and password do we use? I don't remember using a password in the oracle expression installation.

Spent all day and in the end figured out. Hope will help you guys. First of all we need download a zip file which have install.exe and it is not sqldeveloper-bla-bla.zip, it is windows.x64_180000_db_home.zip. You find it on oracle website, go to downloads -> Database and from here you download it. So we have to install database not sqldeveloper. After download just unzip it and install. By the way after installation for new connection user name is SYSTEM and password which you gave and Service-Name orcl. Hope it will save your time :)

@Samir Babayev In this case first you must uninstall Databse 12c from your computer step by step: http://www.rebellionrider.com/oracle-database-12c-tutorial/how-to-uninstall-oracle-database-12c-rebellionrider.htm Next download database version 12 or 18 from Oracle website, then install and enter your new password to database which you'll need to create new connect in your SQLDEVELOPER ;)

@Database Star Hello, I download the WINRAR file SQL DEVELOPER and then extract, after that i opened the sql developer exe. There is no password and something. Can you help please?

There would have been one you entered about halfway through the installation. If you have forgotten it, I think the only way is to reinstall Oracle Express (which doesn't take long).
