I don't know about anybody's opinion but when Sharon Tate's pictures came up my heart leapt into my throat. I know it's been a long while but it's still very fresh in my mind.
Norman Mcķenzie (11 days ago)
Those beautiful actress numbers..never include dorothy malone..shirley eaton .kathryn grayson..senta berger .ann blyth....why not
Ozlem Yildirim (14 days ago)
These were real nature beautis without plastic surgery.Today's actresses are very ugly.Full pumped with Botox and untalented.
Claire McDaniel (26 days ago)
These women have just one type of look in these glossy photos. There is more to beauty than this.
Claire McDaniel (26 days ago)
I can't see the beauty of Marlene Dietrich. She is rather ordinary and her facial features look mean to me.
Barbara Leszczynski (1 month ago)
Please add Debra Paget and Virna Lisa....the most beautiful eyes, unbelievable.
Leah Johnson (2 months ago)
Actresses back then were classy, elegant, and acted like they had manners. Today’s actresses are classless, tacky, vulgar, and brainwashed.
Sandra Šiaudvytytė (2 months ago)
They all r so beautiful , so classy. In my opinion Deborah Kerr was such an extraordinary beauty.

They all look so so beautiful

Garbo and Dietrich said: no other more beautiful than Dolores del Río. Dolores was happily married with Cedric Gibbons, principal of the MGM, when she met Orson Well, they fell in love, fled and separated in Rio de Janeiro. Orson never forgot her. Rebecca Wells Wells Haywort came in the 70s to Mexico to meet the woman her father always loved.

The beautiful Elisabeth Taylor, ava Gardner , grâce Kelly ,gêne terney .
John Reddington (3 months ago)
I’d call some of the actresses attractive or pretty rather than beautiful but as beauty is in the eye of the beholder I could be wrong.
Jim Carlile (3 months ago)
Also Joan Bennett and Jane Greer
Foday Robinson (3 months ago)
Only one black actress dorothy dandridge...she is the most beautiful of them all...
Dofraci Amorim (3 months ago)
E Celeste Holm?
GoodDogNigel (3 months ago)
Thank you for not including Joan Crawford.
Denise Strickland (3 months ago)
Poor Sharon Tate and her unborn baby never had a chance. That was so sad.
auapplemac (3 months ago)
There are some who were "merely" pretty, cute or interesting, but for classic beauty how could they omit Grace Kelly? Also Sophia Loren and Lena Horne, also a very young Ethel Barrymore?
Linda C (3 months ago)
Did they leave out Vivien Leigh, and Merle Oberon? They were the most beautiful of all...
Marina Zagrai (2 months ago)
I haven't watched the other parts, but they also didn't include Carole Lombard! Some of these actresses were not that beautiful...I don't find Marlene Dietrich close to beautiful.
Citrus and Clove (3 months ago)
Vivien Leigh was definitely beautiful.
Jim Carlile (3 months ago)

Great vid. Hollywood during the Golden Age knew how to shoot a glamour shot... and they didn't even have Photoshop!
auapplemac (3 months ago)
No Photoshop, but they did it the "old fashion" way with air brushing and lighting tricks.
Kelly Anastasia (4 months ago)
Not sure what it is, but the musical piece that starts at 6:10 is absolutely lovely. So fitting for showcasing these wonderful ladies.

ALL ABOARD !!!!....This is definitely the LAST train through "Hollywood Royalty" !....There aren't many of the girls left...Debbie Reynolds' homegoing is considered by most to be the last of female Hollywood Royalty, But Doris Day is still with us as well as a couple others. THAT'S IT !!!...These are/were Hollywood's initial stars from the birth and early/beginning years of entertainment on the national stage and were the pathfinders/trailblazers of what Hollywood has superceded itself as today !...You can't start another dynasty of royalties to pick-up where the honorarium ends, That would be like starting a new round of "Baby-Boomer" years !...Sorry, That's just the way it is....No heirs to this throne...Just "Torch passers" ! On the "Men" side of Hollywood Royalty, Other than Kirk Douglas and Sidney Poitier, I'm sure there may be a few left that I can't recite at this time. Actors such as Arnold Schwarzenegger doesn't qualify as Hollywood "ROYALTY" [With emphasis on royalties...Not Hollywood's top earners or successes during their tenure]...Royalty in Hollywood is considered to be Pre-1970 for an ALREADY ESTABLISHED actor/actress, Not an "Up-and-comer" such as "The Brady Bunch" !!!

I missed Martha Hyer and Jean Seberg. They were two short-haired stunners -- but strangely they rarely seem to make lists like this one.

Ann Miller - finest dancer, Jeanette MacDonald - superb singer, Sharon Tate - what a tragic death .. but these women are not classic actresses and only marginally gorgeous. Judy Holliday, Joan Blondell, Vera-Ellen and Sandra Dee are not classic actresses( with the possible exception of that rare comedienne, Judy) and can only be classified as "cute." Enjoyed the presentation, though, and realize that it's only one person's perception. J. R. Nakken

Can't believe the short lives that some of them lived! I was amazed, however, at how long a couple of them were here, despite the Hollywood lifestyle and the lack of medical advances in their time.
flatfoot floogie60 (1 year ago)
So much lovelier than the tramped up looking so-called actresses of today!! I would far rather look like one of them!!
Marina Zagrai (1 month ago)
+dkmeller1 Listen, I'm 52...so I've heard all kinds of meanness from people...and all that does is make you ignore them. I don't believe that those so-called feminists speak for anyone (I have a son and I can't imagine how the feminists bring up their sons - they will probably flee as soon as they can!). Agree about the heterosexuality coming back...because otherwise, humans will disappear. Trans or any kind of homosexuals can't have kids like we do (adopting other hetero couples' kids).
dkmeller1 (1 month ago)
+Marina Zagrai Feminists "won't accept the thought of a flawless woman". No, they won't, but the rest of us will, and quite happily. Stop listening to these defective, ugly, and bitter she-mutants! It is past time to celebrate masculine strength and feminine beauty and allure. It is time for good old-fashioned heterosexuality to reclaim center stage. There is nothing wrong with lesbianism, but those feminists are the (small) minority, NOT the norm, and certainly not the ideal! MORE ladylike feminine elegance, beauty, and loveliness, please.
dkmeller1 (1 month ago)
flatfoot floogie60 The most that we can all hope for is those old movies, photos, paintings and perhaps figurines of these lovely ladies, (and their contemporaries) will inspire new generations of girls and young women to rediscover what these "sweet old-fashioned girls" grew up with and practiced all their lives. The current overgrowth of feminists and horrid modern women can't continue indefinitely! Better times and better women must return. What about the awful modern women who are left behind? No worries, somewhere there will be stray cats who'll need homes. LOL!
Marina Zagrai (2 months ago)
Today the use "air brushing" and actresses are very political, which we're not interested in! Back then, they used "pancake" makeup to make them look flawless! The movie industry was only interested in idealizing women (not bad - so I can't imagine today's feminist audiences accepting the idea of a flawless woman!).

+Finn Macdonald Do you just have any language skills? Use words, if you know any, without cursing!
